Hey Everybody,
I know tomorrow is Christmas Eve but is anyone else planning on heading (to JFK) out for some spotting during the day time before all the festivities?
The weather is supposed to be pretty good.

I might, it depends on how good the WX is. Went out last Christmas Eve and it turned out to be a pretty good day.

I would consider going out for some spotting if the weather is good (read: above 40 degrees) :)

The temp. means nothing to me as long as I have a couple spare batteries laying around.
I just need clear skies and I'm happy.
Here is a link to the weather for JFK tomorrow morning.

The winds are supposed to be out of the SW so would that put the 22's or 31's in use?

If the 22s are in use I'll prob hit up Bayswater for some departures shots, if the 31s are in use I'll be heading to Hobe. I can't stay out to late because so I'll prob be out until 2 ish then off to my family's Xmas eve dinner.

Yea same here I have to be back early. I hope the 31's are in use, I've never been to HoBe yet.

I'm really liking the forecast for tomorrow...if I can get to sleep early enough tonight, I'd seriously consider a sunrise trip to HoBe or North Woodmere Park...I can't stay too long though, because I should probably get to work by 11 :P

A little heads up for tomorrow:

LH410 will be operated by an A340-600 tomorrow rather then the normal A330-300 for this time of year. ETA is 2:30pm.

Eric, If I come out, it be after noon, but I'll ring you.

I'm assuming we'll probably have some extra traffic, judging by the delays and cancellations I've heard of on hte radio.

Extra traffic is always a plus.
I'll be out in the early morning.

I'll be at work at JFK on Xmas Eve. I have a half day, but if anyone needs anything, feel free to give me a call, or if you guys want to meet up briefly.

I'm sitting here at work, making sure the rich folk get where they need to for the holidays.
I hope all of you who made it out, had a great spotting day, and I hope to get out there again someday soon.

Merry Christmas!

I went out for a little while today, meet up with Eric at Bayswater only to have then switch to the 31s. Went by Firestone and stayed until Jet Airways came in. All in all it was the shortest spotting day I've ever had, I shot a total of four planes, lol The light was fantastic though. Here's today's catches.

I saw that Jamacia A321 as I was getting off the Q113 bus.
It was a great day for spotting, nice and clear.
I got to Ho/be at 8am and tried to get to the place for 22 depts and got lost. Then I headed to the mounds, but found out they switched to the 31's so I went to

I really like your Emirates 777-300ER shot, Nikon. You can clearly see every detail that makes the -300ER the -300ER!

I spent my wonderful afternoon at JFK on X-mas eve. I first spotted at Hamilton Beach and then to Cedarhurst and Rockaway Blvd. Im planing to see if I can get my camera checked out to found out about that dust on the lens sometime after new year. Well enjoy my pictures and HAPPY HOLLLIDAYS!!!!

Where were you for those arrival shots? I was at Firestone for a while this afternoon, and got all the same ones you did (left before Air India arrived).

I was at Cedarhurst Park right next to the LIRR station and for the El AL shot I got from Peninsula Blvd and the Air India shot I got from across Coscos. the rest I got from Cedarhurst Park right by the LIRR station.

I've always wondered how that park was for spotting...looks like you got a lot of near-belly shots? Good to know...

I went walking around trying to find Firestone, but I just couldn't find it.

NIce shots and great light y'all!

I spent 3 hours at the gym. By the time I was ready to head in, got word that our my son and wife were both sick, so I went home to nurse the family back to health.

Sorry to miss y'all!
