A man boarding a plane at Nuremberg Airport in Germany nearly died when he downed a liter of vodka at a security checkpoint rather than handing it over to comply with carry-on liquids rules. Instead of tossing the bottle or paying a fee to have it placed in his checked baggage, the 64-year-old man on his way home to Dresden from Egypt chugged the bottle, and soon became incapacitated. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for alcohol poisoning, and is expected to make his way home in a few days.
