I took most of these shots from the TOC north parking deck which provides awesome overview of the entire ATL airfield. Definitely the "best seat in the house" by far. That 767-300ER at the bottom is one of the ex-Gulf Air birds.

Flo - I don't pay any attention to local politicians. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was all a media stunt. I mean, CNN and The Weather Channel are based here in Atlanta.
