Hi All,

Below are pictures from first day at MIA airport. I was there entire week and almost every day I had a chance to spend at least couple of hours at the airports.
In this first post I will post pictures from Miami 11/11/2007. As I edit more pictures I will add them here to this post instead of starting new topics.

Although what happened to the tail of my Iberia A340-600?!

Senga,

As you can see I've got my Varig LOG 757. That was my highlight of the day.

And Iberia picture came like that because I wasn't paying attention what was coming in. When I saw it I started running like hell to the other side of the street, but when I got there I still couldn't fit it in my lens :)

More pictures will follow shortly.

Great shots Rafal - it seems like I'll have to make the trek down there one weekend to catch all this good stuff! Looking forward to the rest!

who does that Shorts-30 belong to? Why's it have an ED tail code?

Nice shots Rafal,
I see they moved A LOT of stuff around since my last visit. I never get any special visitors when I visit OPF.
That white "Russian" aircraft you told me about earlier..that a dornier 328.

Matt,
Those USAF C-23s were based at Edwards AFB 412th Test Wing.
Rafals was regisered as 83-0513.
I shot mine at (MKE) Milwaukee in 1999,2000 or so.

Great shots Rafal.... I see FL remains the last refuge of Convair props still....

Great stuff with the DC-7s. Three of them? The AA still flies right? EA being restored?

That old Shorts was a surprise too.

They are at OPF....I'm assuming you plan to stop off at OPF for a little bit?
You can get all 2 DC-7s 1 DC-6 and the C-54/DC-4 at OPF

Actually there are two DC-7s and one DC-6. Tommy, if you stop by Opa Locka make sure to go to the gate near the terminal. There is security guard right next to the entrance to GA ramp. Just go and ask if you can walk and take pictures of those DC-7s. We did and he took us in his golf cart around entire ramp. In the worst case he will tell you that you have to walk, but I'm sure he will let you roam around.

Yes, Florida is one of the last places where you can find so many Convairs. (another comes to mind is Reckenbacker Field in Columbus Ohio). For the full list of stuff from OPF you can check my log posted in Registration forum. We were running out of time so me missed few frames.

Tom

Yeah they regularly fly cargo runs to the Bahamas. The blue and yellow one does also.
