[airlinerstp://www.airliners.net/open.file/1282036/L/[/airlinersMan I've been waiting a long time to see what this plane would look like when prepped as a refueler! Dead sexy!

I hope the Air Force buys enough of them to complement/replace the KC-135s... a one-for-one replacement would be perfect, but also dreamy...

Am I the only one who doesn't want to see the -135's go???

I am right there with you but I am afraid that they are pretty much past useful life for the most part. :(

Hey Moose, are you intrested in brushing the dust off of the old manuals and perhaps taking the command on a surplus bird?

Well it would be quite easy to strip, the bladders just slide out, the cabin is already empty(you might want to buy some faux bulkheads just in case you carry the family, because you can see the fuselage bend).Up front the only thing to go would probably be the UHF radios and military FMS's.And you have yourself a good to go 135 minus a little, now- what about that boom?

Imagine the aerial photography capabilities when looking out the boom? NICE!

Sounds good to me, you know what they say...flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

They brought KC767 "demonstrator" to our facility here in Cedar Rapids about a month ago. I am not a big military bird fan, but figured I'd go check it out. Turned out to be just a trailer with a bunch of pictures inside and a so-so refueling sim.

When the KC-767 goes in service, gone will be the days of the refueling pictures... sadly.

After the Darleen Druyun scandal and given the recent trend of removing 'buy American' provisions from government procurement, anyone else here think there's a chance this contract could actually go to Airbus?

No...

I saw the KC-767 for the Italian Air Force at the Paris Air Show, this is the only picture that I was able to find...
