So has anyone else noticed the extra early advertisement of the holiday season? Seriously, I was out today running around town and noticed a few places already discreatly advertiseing for the holidays. Can we get past Thanksgiving first please? Seriously, in the malls I am already seeing advertisement for Chanukkah and Christmas. That actually kind of puts me in a bad mood as opposed to good mood. How the hell can you pass that kind of stuff off when it is flipping 75 degrees out!? Gosh! Anyone else feeling the same way I am?

Yep, I saw a Christmas section in Macy's in Chicago 2 weeks ago which pissed me off, and I just read an article (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/08/technology/08ecom.html) about how LL Bean began their holiday free shipping promotion LAST MONTH. I also happened to walk through Rockefeller Center on Sunday, where I saw people ICE SKATING (the rink apparently opened on Saturday). It was about 80 degrees so it was literally covered with about an inch of melted water. One spot was even coned off because it was too soft, and people who fell got soaked. :!:

I think it was Master Card who had a Christmas TV add out already...pretty sick. I remember when Halloween was Halloween, Thanksgiving was Thanksgiving, and Christmas was Christmas. Now they lump all these holidays into what seems like one HUGE Hallothankmas holiday. I'm going to be in Canada for Halloween this year, I think I'm going to dress up as a pushy American, oh wait they think I am already, lol

I was shopping for a birthday gift for Mel recently and the store was flat out playing Christmas music already. Early October!

Are you serious?? It's pretty obvious that Christmas ads get pushed up earlier every year, but this is the first time I hear of Christmas music being played before Thanksgiving. That's absolutely ridiculous. I might have even mentioned it to the manager had I been in your position.
Not really on topic, but last year I frequently went to an all-you-can-eat Chinese joint in Rockville with friends and we noticed that they had a CD of cheap Chinese rip-off of Christmas carols on loop all year round. How I miss the days of chicken dumplings and Christmas music at the beginning of summer holidays, haha. :D

I'm just about done with it.
On October 2, I went into a few stores already decked out for Christmas.
Screw Autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving, its all about Christmas.
I think I am boycotting Christmas this year. The consumerism is just ridiculous.

Yeah we're putting up our Christmas stuff right now (Sears Essentials in Marlton, NJ). Funny thing is that we're a week behind!
