B-29 Hudson Flyby 9-13-07

Hi Board,

Last week from my office in Newport, I saw a B29 fly down the Hudson around lunch time. Quite a soundtrack I must say. Does anyone have any info on this flight?

Are you sure it was a B-29? There was a B-17 flying around last Friday-Sunday from Teterboro around the Statue of Liberty and up and down the river.

Hmm,

Perhaps I was mistaken. Didn't get too good of a look at it as it flashed in and out behind building lines. It was a treat to witness nevertheless. Nice photo!

I'd be willing to bet that what you saw was the B-17 Bill posted. The only B-29 in flying condition is "Fifi", and she has been out of service since last summer with engine issues.
