What the hell is wrong with these people? He deserved a beating in addition to the taser....

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A University of Florida student was Tasered and arrested after trying to ask U.S. Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., about the 2004 election and other subjects during a campus forum.

Videos of the incident posted on several Web sites show officers pulling Andrew Meyer, 21, away from the microphone after he asks Kerry about impeaching President George W. Bush and whether he and Bush were both members of the secret society Skull and Bones at Yale University.

"He apparently asked several questions -- he went on for quite awhile -- then he was asked to stop," university spokesman Steve Orlando said. "He had used his allotted time. His microphone was cut off, then he became upset."

Saw the video, not the best quality but you can hear him crying like a baby. The news said he got irate when his time limit for speaking expired and his microphone was cut off but you know what. You get unruly and don't listen to law enforcement you get zapped. I think the taser is a great weapon for law enforcment and this guy deserved it.

I would have liked to have heard Kerry's answer. :(

Oh, and you know he said he wanted to answer this "very important question" or words to that effect.

Then he says... "Whatever happened, the police had a reason, had made their decision that there was something they needed to do. Then it's a law enforcement issue, not mine," he told The Associated Press in Washington.

Ever the brave one.... right on the fence.

Police report student told them: 'You didn't do anything wrong' (http://www.starbanner.com/article/20070918/NEWS/70918007/1053/BREAKING_NEWS)

GAINESVILLE - Police have released the incident report detailing the Tasering of a University of Florida student during a campus forum with Sen. John Kerry Monday, and the officer who actually Tasered Andrew Meyer wrote in the report that Meyer later told police, "You didn't do anything wrong."

In the 12-page report, which gives accounts of the incident from the perspective of eight different officers who were present Monday afternoon, Officer Nicole Mallo writes that Meyer would only resist officers when cameras were present.

"As (Meyer) was escorted down stairs (at the University Auditorium) with no cameras in sight, he remained quiet, but once the cameras made their way down stairs he started screaming and yelling again," Mallo wrote.

by trying to fight off the two officers right after his mic was cut he displayed the desire to resist arrest. when he was on the floor in the back of the hall he continued to resist. IMO, he deserved to be tased. that's why he was getting arrested in the first place. his actions led to his getting arrested.

and what secret society was he talking about?
