9/11 can be an awkward topic for people. The guy's a complete fool, but I can understand why someone would accidentally say that when on the radio and such a topic comes up.

You'd meet someone somewhere and they learn you're from New York, and you see that they want to ask you about your 9/11 experience, and they never know how to approach it, and it gets uncomfy for both sides sometimes.
