Picked up my 40D today!!

Let me say this. I'm digging it!!! Great piece of equiptment. I highly reccommend it to anyone out there thinking of making an upgrade. Big jump from two XT bodies.

I love it so much I think I'm going to sleep with it tonight. :shock:

Ahh! I just ordered one. $849 without tax! (sorry, that might be painful for all yall who bought it for list price :P )
With tax, I expect it to be $950ish...which is, like, amazing. Now i await delivery, which should be in about 1 month. The $300ish savings is worth the wait to me. omg, so excited, need to breathe. :!: :!: :!:

Just be willing to wait for it, which is the unfortunate compensation for saving $350ish...but worth it to me. I'd rather have it a month from now and save the money...thats just me.

They're based in Brooklyn, and have free shipping, which are good things I 'spose too 8)

I have heard about them too. Good chance it's grey market. I would call them and tell them you won't accept a non-USA warranty.

Bestpricecameras.com (A.K.A. infinitiphoto.com and jandkcameras.com) is a scam company.

They are a bait and Switch company, if you haven't already, you will recieve a high-pressure call to buy some items like batteries for an outrageous price, if you don't buy, they will have it "Out of stock" and they will either cancel your order, or you will wait and wait and wait, and like so many have reported "never recieve the product" basically forcing YOU to cancel.

Ordered item on 9/05/2007 via website, item stated to be factory fresh and in stock. Received email to call on 9/06/2007. When I called I was asked as to why I was buying a camera body without battery, cables, body cap etc.( these items are supplied by the manufacturer with the camera body and would be present unless the packaging had been opened and they had been removed). When I stated that the order was correct and the body was all I wanted, I was told that the item was "back ordered" and it would be 4-6 weeks before it was available. ( If this were, in fact the case, that should have been the first line of the conversation, IMHO). When I said that I didn't understand, the website stated that the item was in stock, I was told that the order was cancelled and that someone was updating the website as we spoke. The website continues to show the item as in stock as I write this.

I think that there was never any intention to sell the item at the advertised price ( which certainly was attractive) and that this is the "bait and switch etc" that so many others have mentioned. My own feeling is that there was an attempt to sell me items/accessories which were in fact included in order to raise the final price.

I cannot reccommend this merchant. There appear to have been several hundred complaints filed against them with the NYC BBB, most of them seemingly similar to incidents reported here.

order cancelled. not sure if they're a scam or not, but I want US warranty and not a foreign 40D...plus, my dad didn't like the sound of it haha. ive placed an order with ritzcamera instead. c'est le vie...
