N689Mike just made a precautionary landing by Rt 135 and LIE. Heard info given to FRG
who contacted Nassau Aviation. Nassau 4 airborne on the south shore now heading up to investigate. It is a Robinson R22. 2 souls aboard but everyone sounds safe.

Actually it landed at 300 Jericho Tpke just WEST of Rt106/107 in a private residence. Nassau 4 just landed near them and a number of 2 Pct units pulling up. Both occupants out of the aircraft with no injuries. EAB 2344 telling the dispatcher to call off Jericho VFD who are not needed but racing to the scene.

Chopper 12 just passed by me (2:45) from FRG to hook up with an ENG already on scene. A few minutes later a 3rd came in from the city. By 3:05 they were all dispersing. Interesting that at one point Cablevision S76 N401CV was inbound to
their pad at Bethpage when the pilot decided to do an orbit in the area where the ENGs were. He notified FRG Tower he was doing this but the news copters had no clue who he was and what he was doing. Out of FRG airspace they were all talking on 123.025. Thankfully nothing happened but another example of why you have to be on constant alert when flying a scene like that.
BTW the copter that made the landing was a "Boatpix" copter which I believe is equipped with pontoons and not skids. I've seen their ships at FRG.
Boatpix are the "spotters" of the Marine world. They take pictures of boats from their helicopters.

Boatpix is huge on flying in the Sarasota area. The Robbie dealer Florida Suncoast Helicopters at SRQ does alot of their MX. They have a pretty top notch team down tere at that place. I am curious to the reggie of the bird and if I had seen her around the pad area at SRQ previously.

That location is just a couple of miles from where I live, I'm quite familiar with the area. Quite a few large homes with lots of land, and if you zoom out on the map Matt linked to, the golf course just to the NW was where I was shooting the company golf outing at last month. Now, if a copter sat down then, it would have really been something to see!

And just by coincidence, I was down Jericho Tpke about 2 miles east of there about the time it was happening.

Listed as coming out of Bethany Beach, Delaware which is a resort town on the Atlantic
