View Full Version : Wedding Photography, my first time.

I volunteered to shoot my friend's wedding (being the photographer AND a guest is VERY tiring, let me warn you!)

I would never be interested in actual traditional wedding photography...it's just not my thing, but I knew that she wanted something a bit more artistic and candid. It was also very low-key and small, so I felt confident that I could handle it. Little did I know that we would be on a terrace made for about 15 people....with 30 people instead (plus the caterers), in the dark, with lots of obstructions (and other old people getting in the way with their cameras!!), etc. Needless to say, it was a bit challenging. I think I did ok for my first time in this situation. I'll let you guys decide....here are the photos. :)

Wow! You did an awesome job, Mel. The pictures all look very professional and classy but still have a very personal touch to them.

I hope the bride is very happy with the pics. :)

Your favorite work of HER or HERS? lol

Seeing them closer now, they look much better than my earleir quick glances from home.

I hate pics of me, but those ain't too shabby with the lady there to compensate. :)

Nice work, Melanie.

My thoughts? God damn Phil is so hot... I'd hit it...

Nice pictures though. The quality and "creativeness" is great!

I like the first one the best, it's got some excellent depth to it. Your eyes jump from the back of her head, to her eye, to the groom. Perfect.

Great photos, and very artistic!
I would only suggest one thing...
Bounce flash.
Some of your photos have very harsh, "snapshot" flash in them, if you were to bounce the flash the shadows would be softer and less noticeable.
Thats all, keep up the good work!
