Hey Guys:

Came across this video on Youtube, and it shows the inside of TWA Term 5 from 1992. I am amazed of how red the carpets and everything is- and also if you notice at time 2:00 it shows the international departures to Athens, Paris, and even Tel Aviv- I even think the flight number is 800 to Athens or maybe 880. Enjoy the Video!!

**** In loving memory of Captain Gid Miller (video spot 3:35), and F/A Janet Christopher (video spot 6:24), who 4 years later would be working Flight 800 on July 17, 1996 ****

Nice reminder of the good old days. In '92 a TWA L-1011 had an RTO and burned at JFK but everyone survived, the crew was widely praised in the media and got some commendations from the federal government for their outstanding performance. One of the FAs onboard that flight has a website about it, interesting reading:

I remember that TWA 1011 incident well. My father had recently retired from TWA, and talked to a number of his old co-workers about it. I even have that Newsday front page shown on that web site in a box in the attic.

Captain Miller if I am not mistaken was the crew member from my neck of the woods in Florida. I have to dig back to the news paper clippings I have stashed someplace though and find out if it was him.

TWA will certainly have a soft spot for me always. As cheesey as it sounds I almost feel pain when I see the TWA terminal at JFK or the old former TWA equpiment at LGA or on occasion something that might remind me of TWA at LGA. When I worked at SRQ in the office I shared with two other people we had an old portion of a outdoor TWA check in counter in the corner of the office with the old red strip colors TWA logo on it. It brought back alot of memories from the good days.
