I'm trying out a new spot at N40 that's better for morning shooting. Did some tries at panning also. I really need a DSLR.

This Mooney kept it low on takeoff. Sweet. :)

Probably my best pan of the day.

Sky Manor's "super famous" Glasair. It won some award at Oshkosh in 1993.

nice shots, you seem to hit most of the ga airports in North Jersey, whats some of the more busier and interesting ones?

Do they still have the Beriev amphibians out there? I happened upon them one day a couple of years ago, I think the gent who runs the airport had the distributorship, and they were very cool.

Thanks guys.

Bill, I hit Sky Manor most often as it's closest to where I live. I also like to get out to Somerset, Central Jersey Regional, Van Sant and TTN (sometimes). Van Sant has the coolest stuff, I'd say. You're almost guaranteed too see something really neat on a nice summer evening. Sky Manor has the most traffic on weekends I'd say, mostly because it has a restaraunt. My offer still stands that anyone who wants to join me spotting at Sky Manor, I'll buy them lunch. :)

AUH, yeah the Be-103s are still there. The owner of Sky Manor, Ken Lynn, is indeed the North American distributor for Beriev. Those two 103s aren't exactly selling like hotcakes. I posted a few shots of them in previous threads. I've only seen them flying once, over my house. They're very slow (only doing about 120 knots - slow for a twin I'd say) and very loud. I've been hoping to see them take off or land, but no such luck. I think I'm going to contact Ken and ask him when he's taking them up next so I can be prepared. :)

Central Jersey RegionalIt's pronounced "Kupper" :)

If you're going to poke around Central NJ, try to find a day when the gliders are flying at Somerset or Blairstown, or when banner tow operations are going on at Kupper.

There's a third one? I know of N13KL and and N30KL. Do you know the N-number of the third? I'd assume it ends with KL also. :)

I actually hit SMQ late this afternoon. I got there just as their last glider was touching down. No use anyway though because the sun was perfectly in the way.

SMQ is home to some lovely Champs, a Cub or two,a WACO, and an extremely rare Spartan Executive. I miss flying out of there regularly.

Do you know which hangar the Spartan is hangared? That'd be neat to go and see.
