Anyone ever try shooting lightning? I have far less than the recommended equipment for shooting lightning, and haven't gotten any decent shots before. Well, this evening's lightning storm was a good chance. Lots of "out of cloud" lightning, and there was a good period without rain. I'm curious to see how other people's lightning shots come out, and how you do it.

anyone here even know how to do it? there's got to be more to it than just standing waiting for a bolt to go through.

You can just do long exposures, and wait for lightning to strike within that time frame. Apparently they sell devices that will set the shutter off when it detects the light from the lightning, but I know nothing about those.
