I don't know, Mel, some of the stuff they show is kind of questionable - the breaking news ticker shows "Rocket Launcher Found Underneath Airline Flight Path", yet as we know, (and the story they link to demonstrates) this wasn't terror related. They also list a "bomb scare" in Chicago where someone found a cardboard box with "a few wires sticking out" at a 7-11, which police reported was harmless.

The best one, though, was the story out of Topeka, KS, where for the second time in two weeks, police blew up a "suspicious package" found in a woman's driveway. It is believed her boyfriend (ex?) was behind the incidents. According to the story:

Police picked up the man involved in the other disputes here for questioning. And then, just before eleven, police blew up the package. They say it was full of what they called personal affects. 13 News later learned the package contained compact discs and slippers.
I think they need to take another look at what they call "terrorism and other suspicious events".

I didn't look at all the events (to be honest, I didn't look at more than a couple)...I just thought the concept was cool. ;)

It is a neat idea, but the execution leaves something to be desired. My first thought was it was it looked like something the current administration was behind so they could point to it and say "See, it's dangerous out there, so we need to further curtail your civil rights..." but maybe I'm just paranoid.

Been using the site for some time. They are basically grabbing anything news related. I don't mind some of the news which seems to be minor. Remember there could be a possibility of patterns or test of the system.

The most innocent of situations (like someone wanting a VCR tape converted into DVD) can lead to an actual threat.

Camels don't like it there.

I'm sure Rednecks that like to drive trucks into Federal buildings and freaks that live in secluded shacks and like to send explosive packages in the mail wouldn't like it there either.
