Hi All-

Need some quick advice on whether I should fly into LGA or EWR tomorrow morning from CVG. I'm going to change my ticket in the next hour or two, so any replies would be helpful. Basically the situation is that flights to both LGA and EWR get in at around 9:40 AM and I have to first go to my office (midtown east) to drop off my bags, and then head over to mid-town west for a meeting. The meeting starts at 11 AM.

So the $64,000 question is: Which will be easier and quicker to get into NYC from: EWR or LGA?

yea LGA as its closer and more ways to get to the city quickly aka:taxis, MTA buses, etc.

choose LGA

I admire the faith that allows you to think you will actually arrive at 9:40am and be able to stop in your midtown office, then make an 11am meeting.
Blessed are the believers

A believer I am! I think LGA is better as well. How bad is the traffic around 10AM? Is it settling down from the morning rush around the bridges/tunnels or do I have completely blind hope?

EDIT: Just found out the meeting got pushed to 11:30. Guess i have some more time than I thought! This is good.

You should absolutely fly into LGA. It's much closer to midtown than either JFK or EWR. If all goes perfect, i.e.: your flight is on time, haven't checked any luggage and either have a car waiting or can get a cab immediately, you will be able to get into town by 10:30 or so, and make it to your meeting.

P.S. My boss pulls this kinda stuff all the time and I'm responsible for his travel, so I am confident you'll be ok IF things go as planned.

Thanks Mel! I'm thinking I will be ok with the time change now to 11:30. I don't have bags checked, just 2 carry-on's and I'm reasonably certain we'll be on-time because it's an early morning flight (before delay backlogs), and I think it will be easy to get a cab once out at LGA, no?

It'll be easy getting a cab...what airline are you flying on?

Delta

Here's a tip...if the cab line at the Delta terminal is crazy, take a quick walk over to the US Airways Shuttle Terminal...guaranteed to get a cab with a minimal line.
