I have that one, I like it a lot. Holds my 100-400 while attached to the body, plus room for a couple more lenses on each side, and accessories in the pockets.

I have the Canon 200DG, its an AWESOME bag. I love it, holds everything with room to spare.

That Canon bag is hugeeeee, he said he's looking for something smaller.
I have this one and its a perfect fit for my camera, the kit lens and 100-400 lens. Also has a waterproof cover and padding.

It can hold up to three lenses. I don't know what kind of gear you have, but just barely holds my 70-300IS while attached. What I like is the ability to access everything while it is still slung around my shoulder, which a backpack doesn't allow. But when I do need a backpack for hikes and whatnot, the size and shape of it lets me fit it into my regular old JanSport.

One thing I have learned, though, is to find the bag in a real store first (if you plan to order it online), that way you can "test-fit" all of your equipment to make sure you are getting the best bag for your needs.

I thought he was asking in general what do we use?

I don't mind the larger bag myself...

Mine is very similar to this - it holds my DSLR with the zoom lens, but if I want to carry the standard lens as well, I carry it in an attachment lens bag.

I've also got the Computrekker AW, and while I don't plan to get rid of it, I'd like to get something smaller to augment it. Basically, the Computrekker is great for loading everything up to take from home when I'm going on a trip, but usually when I go out shooting I only need to bring the camera and one lens.

Lowpro Slingshot 100 AW. It does the job. If you need bigger than the 200 would do you good.

Matt, go with whats comfortable. I have a backpack. It's big but I love it b/c I can wear it on both shoulders and the weight is distributed across my back, not lopsided on one shoulder.

I like the canon 200DG, but just didnt want to sling a bag on one shoulder. The 200DG is practical if you are sswitching lenses a lot in the midst of a shoot. Being that I don,t the backpack worsk for me. What are you looking for, size or comfort as priority?
Just my 2 cents.

well, i definately will not be buying a canon bag guys. sorry, but there is no way i'm putting a nikon in one of those.

aside from that, i also like the backpack idea. my flight bags are both shoulder bags and i honestly love them. they're comfortable and easy to access. i do like the backpack hoever in that it makes it much easier to carry everything. i tend to lean towards messenger bags since that's what i wear if i need to go romp around the city and run errands.

the tamrac bag i was looking at in the begining of this thread peaked my interest because it's both a backpack and a sling bag in one. the only thing that i don't like is that the strap is opposite of what i normally wear. i'm headed to B&H again to scope them out. i like the toploading idea because it slims down the bag. my first one was a messenger bag that was too big and bulky to carry. don't forget, wearing a heavy load further away from your body makes it harder to carry.
i really dislike the lowepro design.

as you see int he above picture, that bag is stuffed to the limit. i don't have enough gear to carry in it so the two orange bags that are on the bottom of that bag were usually on the sides in my case, leaving a big open space with no support on the bottom of the bag. also, that one is meant for a camera that has a grip on it. my D70 doesnt, and it just didn't fit right.

if anyone has that tamrac bag i'm looking at and can take a few pix of it from all angles i'd really appreciate it.

Matt what time frame you looking at? I need a slightly bigger bag (not the one you wanted to trade) I will be buying it soon. You can have mine cheap if you want.

went to B&H today, and got $65 for my old bag in trade-in value. because of that, my new tamrac velocity 9x only cost me $15. the strap was a little annoying on the way home, but i'll get used to it. sorry nick, didn't see your post until now when i got home.

Greetings,

I use a non-descript black carry-all shoulder bag that can also be hand-carried. Nothing fancy here. I have "soft stuff" inside that protects my equipment. In an airport terminal I could be another passenger just arrived or about to leave with one carry-on bag.

Outwardly the bag doesn't give any indication of being a photo/camera-oriented which is what I prefer. My M.O. is ... why advertise what I'm carrying and/or what I'm about ... especially in photo-sensitive environments like airport and near-in outside spotting sites.

It's the lo-profile route for me.

It's all good, I will just put mine on ebay.
