MOSCOW. May 22 (Interfax) - An Aeroflot Ilyushin Il-96 passenger airplane on a Moscow-Hanoi flight had to make an emergency landing at Sheremetyevo Airport, sources in the Russian Transport Ministry told Interfax on Tuesday.
"One of the Il-96 plane's hydraulic systems failed when the plane was gaining height after takeoff from Sheremetyevo Airport at 10:49 p.m. on May 21. The accident happened at a height of 9,100 kilometers. The crew decided to return to the airport. The airplane dumped fuel and successfully landed at 11:45 p.m. Airport services, however, were put on high alert," one of the sources said.
The plane was carrying 133 passengers and eight crewmembers. None of them was killed or injured. tm md
