I headed out early this morning and hit LGA for an hour. Then I went to Howard Beach to see if I could catch some good departures. I wanted to meet up with Mark Lawrence today but didn't have enough time. Hopefull next time Mark! But I read that you had a really good time! That's what it's all about. That's right, 4/22 was closed, I went to the Home Depot over at College Point and finally had the sun on the right side! Nice 31 arrivals even though I didn't stay very long. I really do like that spot though.

Tommy, simply SPECTACULAR SHOTS, some of your best to date. Was definitely worth only 4 hour sleep I'm sure. And as I have previously said thought I am very disappointed in the new US Nevada scheme it looks a little better than before in that great light and with your photography skills. JFK for the most part was on the 4s all day. So if you didn't go out early in the morning (which was cloudy) no one could get anything worth a dime today. JFK did use 13R for arrivals for about an hour today which is rather rare. I did notice finally in the late afternoon they switched to 22 and 13 finally.

Every time the 13/22 configuration is in use and I'm standing at either the mounds or Cargo Plaza I always look up waiting to see the Qantas 747-400 flying over on the downwind to try and get a glimpse if she will be Wunala that day.

Sorry I missed the gang on Saturday - I headed out mid-morning, checked ATIS, and it was 31L departures, 4R arrivals. Thought I would head to Howard Beach for some departures. Just as I got there, they switched to 13L arrivals :roll:

Took a quick run through the cargo plaza, but it looked sort of busy, a bunch of cars & trucks parked and people coming and going. About the same time, they added 22L arrivals to the mix, so I headed out to North Woodmere. Of course, most of the interesting stuff looked to be arriving on 13L, but got a few decent shots:
