The B-17 bomber "Liberty Belle" will be in Colorado this weekend at Rocky Mountain Metro Airport in Broomfield.
The World War II Flying Fortress is touring the country on a "Salute to Veterans Tour" sponsored by the Liberty Foundation (http://www.libertyfoundation.org/index.php),
The public can not only take in the sight of historic plane but also has the chance to fly in the legendary aircraft.
"Our B-17 'Liberty Belle' provides passengers an opportunity to take a step back-in-time and gain respect for the men and women who gave so much to protect our freedoms," reads a statement on the web site. "If you do not care to take a flight, please come out to watch the Liberty Belle fly and take a ground tour. The Liberty Foundation relies solely on donations and contributions to help defray the B-17's high operational expense and maintenance costs."
The total flight experience takes 45 minutes with half hour of flight time. The cost is $430.00 per passenger, a small price to pay for historic time travel back to WWII.
