Illegal aliens are killing more Americans than the Iraq war, says a new report from Family Security Matters that estimates some 2,158 murders are committed every year by illegal aliens in the U.S. The group says that number is more than 15 percent of all the murders reported by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the U.S. and about three times the representation of illegal aliens in the general population.

Mike Cutler, a former senior special agent with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (the former INS), is a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and an advisor to Family Security Matters (FSM). He says the high number of Americans being killed by illegal aliens is just part of the collateral damage that comes with tolerating illegal immigration.

On the bright side, a good number of the murder victims are other illegal immigrants. :D

All the more reason to bring our troops home and have them protect OUR borders. We are fighting a losing battle like said before but we can help stop the illegal aliens from entering our country if we protect our borders more. The giant 700 Mile wall will help us but there is no better replacement for man power.

Interesting article.

One more example of how we've lost control in this country. It seems even the basic, reasonable right to prohibit illegal immigration is full of roadblocks and political infighting.

There is no leadership to address the core issues and our choices are so limited from the usual short list of politicians.

I don't think the answer is to bring out troops home to protect the boarders we have the man power to do it but the reasources and leadership of DHS are a total joke. What kind of message does it send when we lock up our own boarder agents?

Well the D Keywork HOMELAND Security. I don't think that they are doing such a good job at what they call themselves. The DHS people should be down by the border instead of wondering what will happen next in Iraq. They protect our Nation's capital and many of our cities but it seems like we care more about oil and oversea's politics instead of our own.

Ok, we pull out of Iraq to protect our borders from illegal immigrants.. What happens next, our country will be terrorized by (who would have guessed it?) TERRORISTS? The saying is true, "If you don't fight the battle over there, you WILL fight it at the home front."

If you want to pull out and let the terrorists take over Iraq, congrats to you. I would much rather protect America from these ruthless extremists!

WEll, why don't we offer about 3 million illegal aliens citizenship if they join the armed forces and serve for say the next 6 years in Iraq and other places?

See PROBLEM SOLVED.

While this number of murders at 15% is 3 times the representation of illegal aliens in the general population, i.e. it is highly disproportionate, I'm afraid it still means 85% of all murders in the US are committed by American citizens.

What's more striking is that if 2158 is 15%, then that means there are close to 10,000 murders overall per year (can that be?) That makes the recent shootings at Vir-Tech a drop in the bucket, statistically speaking (no disrespect).

Because we can't afford it!

We'd need to do something radical like abolish the public education system - and mandate vouchers for about half the cost per student per year at public schools.

The quality of education would go up, we fund a million man army to sit on places like Iraq (you don't need high tech for that, you need manpower), and we might even be able to give every 18 year old a car and a house (of sorts) for passing go.

We might even consider an amnesty program for non violent inmates clogging our prisons on ludicrous drug charges for which they're serving way toooo many years. More folks for the military - and remember the US military can *already* fight just fine - it needs more people - for all the nation building the de-facto bi-partisan powers that be like to envision. And, we'd stop wasting money on incarcerating non violent people in our much needed prisons for more genuinely undesirable types..(who need to spend a little more time actually)

Its fun to dream isn't it?

But we're broke!

Besides, how long will China keep footing our tab?

A while back, the Arabs used to pay our way by generously lending us their oil money to fund our deficits.

The Japanese did it too. So did the Europeans.

Now the Arabs are developing their own economies in preperation for the day the oil revenue dwindles and eventually stops.

The Japanese economy is in ruins.

And the Europeans are busy investing in their own super economy with a Central Bank that should be the envy of the world for its incredibly smart policies.

The Chinese are financing our deficits for now for their own short term and long term tactical and strategic reasons until the time comes when China becomes an economic superpower and we don't matter to them anymore. That's when their money stops coming our way.

I wonder if we'll be ready for that event which is as certain as anything can be in this world?

What will we do when there will be no one left to fund our deficits?

You know what we'd call a year with 10,000 murders in the United States?

An unprecedented reduction in violent crime.

According to the FBI, there were 16,692 "murders and nonnegligent manslaughters" in 2005 (most recent available), which is a number that's held relatively steady since 1998. Canada had 658 in 2005, a rate just over a third that of the United States.

Is that right?

Is it true we really have more people in New York State than all of Canada?

:D

I'm sure Canada is more peaceful though..

Not true, but combine the NYPD, the New York State National Guard and the State Police and you'd literally have a force about the same size as Canada's entire active military.

New York: 19,306,183 (US Census estimate July 2006)
Canada: 31,612,897 (Census conducted May 2006)
California has 36.4 mil.

Canada has had its share of school shootings unfortunately: Ecole Polytechnique, Dawson College, Taber Alberta. But the overall rate is low because people don't walk around armed.

Regarding the military, yes, the numbers are low, but there's no other armed force as active in the last number of years (and that includes the US).

And when they aren't peacekeaping or fighting a war on terror, they busy fighting on the ice

Go Sens Go!

1. Send illegal aliens in Iraq.
2. Abolish the public education system.
3. Consider amnesty program for non violent inmates.
Wow! Is this the Al-Qaida aviation forum or what? How about public execution for not paying your parking ticket?
Hi, sorry that this has to be my first post!
