This happened to a CO 737 engine this morning shortly after takeoff. This is also after maintanence took a look at it and cleaned it up to survey the damage.

Maybe that's why CO offers free meals... ;)

I don't know guys, that chicken patty that I had flying Continental from EWR to SJU tasted pretty damn good. I guess there is no meat like that of being ground in an authentic airplane engine. ;)

You know what, I think the engine did more damage to the birds than the birds to the engine. ;)

Whos up for some McDonalds?

I'd hate to be the one to pick out what was left of the birds that the hose coudlnt get.

Random story here, but I was talking to some airport ops agents at DTW and they were telling me the story about how one day, a Northwest 747 flew through a flock of about 2,000 birds. Lets just say the runway was closed all day and crews were out there picking up bird mush late into the night. (I think he said they finished around 11:00 PM. The incident happened in the morning)
