Hi Everyone,

There were a bunch more people out today!! It was very nice to meet some more members of the site; I think there were about 15-20 of us in total. Very impressive for a work day :P

I had to leave early to get to work, but I was able to catch the 380 on departure...check it out:

Too bad I couldn't stay for the arrival...I expect to see some shots of that from all the other guys!

Your second shot with the skyline in the backround is absolutely beautiful :D

Do you sell prints of your photos?

The middle skyline shot is awesome, but I would suggest rotating so the shoreline is horizontal and the buildings and landing gear (but not the tail) are vertical. :)

Great shots Bill :)

Yea I didn't bother to upload my shots from yesterday as they would probably be rejcted at invalid hot as well.

i really liked the head-on look too....its an absolutely beautiful angle, and makes the A380 look like the menacing fat pig that is is! :P

here's a shot i took that is exactly what i'm talking about, except it was rejected cuz there's too much heat haze unfortunately. i was surprised to see how much heat haze there was, even in the winter time!! oh well...such is life haha. still somethin' for the personal collection hehe.

Did anyone see it land? After myself and you folks saw it depart from Bayswater I drove around with Vidiot JFK looking for the Air India cargo building, got lost, we thought we saw the A380 land, about 30 minutes later we saw it do a flyby over 13R, a few minutes later I saw a AF Triple 7 land on 13R in my review and drove to the Starbucks on Crossbay Blvd. After 40 minutes of standing on the patio, Vidiot looked up this site on his Blackberry and found out that it landed on 4L ie it pulled a fast one.

However, we did try and sneak around Hangar 19 to get a better look. We did see some nice tail action.

That picture of the A380 with the skyline in the background is great.

Matt Smith, Joe Stecz, and---and (sorry forgot your name!) and yours truly did manage to just barely return back to Bayswater for today's arrival shots.

"it was a ride into hell"
The runways changed for both its departure and arrival-leaving seconds to get her.

eric8669 and myself almost had a bumper car experience, Matt was drag racing on Rockaway Blvd and I almost twisted the engine in my Jeep into a pretzel.

I'm officially all A380ed out.
Goodbye and good riddance.

Too funny. I noticed that it's not listed on Passur. I back tracked it to 9:15 a.m. and went to 9:50 a.m. and saw nothing. I would have liked to have seen its flight path.

Will any of the A380's be at Frankfurt on Sunday? I have a friend whose flying from FRA on Sunday - he said he'd try to get a photo of one of the A380's for me. Hopefully there's going to be one there!

Some great shots guys. We lucked out with the WX for this event. It wasn't looking so pretty last week. Today was perfect. Here's one of my arrival shots, returning from the press tour...landing 4R. The flyby on 13R was just horrible, can't believe he did it so high...disappointing.

The schedule someone posted here last week has it leaving JFK around 2200 (10pm) tonight, although that's probably a little flexible. This airframe is scheduled to go from Frankfurt to Hong Kong at the end of the week, and from there to Dulles on Sunday.

HAHAHA I was not drag racing on Roackaway Blvd....I do believe you passed me  . On Mott Ave, however... I was just um testing out the engine on my moms new suv ha....

Mike is right...it was a complete Mess....I never thought we would be able to make it back to bayswater from the cargo lots - however we did and i managed to wipe out and cut my leg up running into the park - but I still got the shots! I'll post pics later on...

It was good to see everyone again today. Too bad it was so short... oo and Mike...it was Joe Statz and Chris Eggers...

Night from Daytona,

Well despite the bitter cold the first hour and frustrating runway changes this morning was a lot of fun. Since I became a Dad almost 6 months ago I don't get out at all making today and Monday very special for me. Seeing old friends and meeting new fellow spotters was by far the highlight for me. My little Sony H1 does not stand a chance against all the Cannons and Nikons that where present this morning especially with the distance involved so no a.net or JP action from me but I did manage to squeak out one Mediorce quality and interest exclusive shot just out of dumb luck at Hangar 19.

http://www.jetphotos.net/viewqueued_b.php?id=1364351

BTW for anyone not aware the JP Hot Photo gift is over, you will get a rejection !

Never even saw the flyby and can't believe it landed on 4R after all, glad a few of you managed to get back in time.

For those who attended this morning thanks for the great company !

Nice shots,
Seems like you all had a classic JFK Senga experience!

I think I ran though a total of 5 lights to get a plane one time. Based what what I have heard I think it was better than I wasn't there for the 3rdday. Who knows what would have happened if on more car was intruduced into the chaos.

It was nice to meet some of you in the photo. Sorry I was unable to go around and meet everyone.

My mind was a bit elsewhere, as it was baby's first day out in the world and I normally don't take the family out spotting.

From left to right, can we put names to faces in the photo?

And how is the gentleman to the right of Mike? Looking at those in the photo facing the camera, who was the gentleman in the hat, second from the left? I was about to meet you when the phone rang and suddenly we were off again!

People I can identify, sorry if I left you out, my brain was almost frozen :?

Josh May in sand coat (2nd from left), Jaisong from Stamford CT, Will, Mike P from NJ, John T, Eric D, Vic & Vic from San Diego and behind both are fellows from Neruemberg Germany, one is Thomas.

It was indeed a pleasure to meet you all. Maybe we can have another outing in near future as April is pretty good to get some last shots before summer haze gets worse.

Hey Raj, thanks for the group shot & remembering names. Nice to meet some of you. Im in the foregound with a buddy, Vic to my right.
Its too bad we had to scramble and miss the 4R landing - we ended up getting some shots from Conduit Blvd. (stopping in the middle of the road) just as it did its 13 flyover. And meeting up with the rest of the folks at howard beach when it finally touchdown.

IMO Mike got the money shot of the 380! Awesome stuff.

What a great time it was when it was in NY. I am not a fan of it too much but it caused such buzz. I enjoyed being there for it's arrival.
