Take a look at John's other stuff, his collection is simply fantastic! Best I've seen.

And to think I shot that pane 30 yuars later!
I wasnt even alive when he took that wing shot. Its kind of awsome to see a shot like that of a plane that one photographed and 30 years later this very plane would land past me.

HAHA! I saw the pic and at first all I thought was "old". Then I kept scrolling down and was like "Holy $^%!" haha
Proctor has some killer stuff. I'm so happy he started uploading.
Not to toot my own horn, but I really like this one

That wouldn't happen to be a Connie, now, would it Fred?

The 747 is (was?) equipped to carry an additional engine if needed to transport it. Typically used when they needed to get an engine someplace to fix a broke jet.

They definitely still do it. Qantas conducted a 5th pod ferry flight last August. See this thread: http://www.vpmag.com/yssy/viewtopic.php ... sc&start=0 (http://www.vpmag.com/yssy/viewtopic.php?t=15939&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0)
