I just want to see if we can get an organized list of people who are coming to see the A380 on the 19th, what times your going to be there, where, etc.

Also, if you have any ideas about a water salute or ceremony, or gate action please post.

I am aware of the Thread started by Iberia under aircraft visitors but this is more of the spotting planing part. if you feel its unnecessary, please close it down.

i'm not taking the day off. my plan on getting into the terminal for it came out to be too expensive, and it didn't guarantee anything.

Buy an international refundable ticket? :?:

I plan on being there as well--not sure when either.

Should we start a threat for Wednesday as well?

I took the day off so I plan on being in the area all day. I'd like to get down to the Firestone by 9:00 AM. Is there any other area that might be better for viewing the arrival? Is it still on schedule to hit 31?

I'm flying up on March 17th and staying until the 20th.

I might try to hang around a few days after the 20th though.

Where I go shoot will depend on the runways in use and lighting.

I will be there on the 19th. Does anyone have more details like what gate it will be parking at, what runway it will be arriving on, when it will be departing, etc.

Can't wait!!! :)

I was planning on being there but thanks to things like weather, flight loads, and the possibility of not getting the day off, I may not be able to make it after all. I'm still looking into it though. I'm 50/50 right now.

Folks I am afraid to say that Mondays events look to be something thatwill be better pictured through the eyes rather than a view finder. Heck we might get to see the first deiceing of the A-380 at JFK that day at this rate.

Three of us are coming down together from CT. Probably come down in the am and spend the better part of the day.

From the NWS:
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 31.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41

Well guys it's official... Joey and I won't be there. Thanks to the wonderful weather that has descended upon the NYC area today, all MCO-LGA and MCO-JFK flights are cancelled for today. Thanks to these already full flights being cancelled, everyone is being rebooked between tomorrow and Monday. The flight I wanted to take Monday (MCO-LGA) went from 35 open in coach to oversold by 10. I am screwed. So guys, you all have a good time. Get some decent shots for me, if possible!

Don't worry Justin...because of the weather in NYC - the A380 has been diverted to MCO with a couple of touch and go's during the day at FLL!

Just an FYI Jetphotos.net will be accepting the A380s arrival into JFK as a "Hot" photo. You can upload your shots of her within the first 48 hours as "HOT" photo. Just be sure the shot meets the sites standards, a backlit, blurry, poorly edited shot will be rejected. Also as an FYI A.net will NOT be accepting the A380 as a "Priority." We're looking forward to seeing some great pics on Jetphotos.net

Someone on A.net speculated that it will be landing on 22L/4R as that is the only runway that has been widened to 60M so far...Can anyone confirm this?

If so, it will make our lives a tad easier in that we'll know where to plant ourselves!

Hey everyone. I'm a magazine journalist covering the spotting angle of the A380 arrival. I was out with Moose135 today getting the lay of the land, and I plan to be there tomorrow-- whichever spot that may be.

I'm sure I'll find some of you there, but PM me if you'd be willing to exchange cell numbers. See you in the morning!

Hi all,

just wondering if today's configuration of the three airports is usual and if we can expect a similar config tomorrow ?

EWR had RWY22L/R in use all day
JFK had RWY31R for landing, RWY31L for dep, then changed to 22 R/L and 31L (arr)
LGA had 31 takeoff, 22 landing, then changed to only RWY31 operation

so maybe RWY22 R/L in use for JFK tomorrow ?

I hope to see some of you in JFK !

greets

Tamon

I'm thinking of getting an early (maybe a REALLY early) start to the day tomorrow, and make it a full day of spotting. Obviously, this would mean I'd be away from my computer (and this forum) for a couple of hours before the "event". Is there anyone who lives nearby (or isn't going out until near the appointed hour) who'd be willing to take my cell phone number and give me a call if any important information gets posted beforehand?

I'm thinking the same about getting an early start on Monday. I'm thinking about Howard Beach early in the AM then heading to the 22 or 31 areas. I'll check the thread in the AM before I leave to see if anyone else is going to head that way. Should be a fun day tomorrow!

I'm also getting an early start tomorrow as my brother has to be at JFK for the first flight out to ROC. I'm heading out with some folks from JFKTower.com, probably starting the spotting day at 7:30-8AM and then heading to one of the good config spots around 10:30-11AM depending on the runway config. If anyone wants my cell#, PM me by 6:30AM tomorrow morning and I'll be happy to respond. Good luck to all spotting and have a great day tomorrow!
