Two airlines have ordered five more Boeing 787 airplanes. Air New Zealand has ordered four 787-9 models valued at about $700 million at list prices, and LOT Polish Airlines has ordered one, valued at about $153 million.

Officials at Chicago-based Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) said Air New Zealand has now ordered a total of eight 787 jetliners.

"These new aircraft are important to Air New Zealand's growth plans over the next decade. Their long-haul capabilities will reach to a variety of destinations in Africa, India, the Americas and Asia, bringing some exciting prospects that we can pursue," said Rob Fyfe, CEO of Air New Zealand, in a statement.

LOT Polish Airlines has also ordered eight 787 airplanes.

The 787 will be built in Everett, and the first delivery is set for 2008. Boeing said it now has 468 orders for the new airliner from 37 customers.
