I know this is 2 weeks away and I don't know about the weather, but, I will be flying up to NY for that weekend - anyone know if they will be around to do maybe one of them on Saturday and the other on Sunday morning? I'm arriving in NY at 8:30am on Saturday morning and leaving JFK at 3pm on Sunday. Hoping there will be some people around to go spotting - weather permitting of course....

I've taken the plunge on this and booked into the Courtyard at LGA and booked a car as well - printed out my spotting maps - so - now all I have to do is pray that the weather will play nicely for my trip

Getting closer to the weekend and it seems as though, although a little cold, it might be partly cloudy - anyone planning on going out this weekend?

I may be out Sunday morning, probably at JFK, depending on winds. I'll post something here Friday if it looks good.

I haven't been out for awhile and I don't think I have much to do this weekend. I still haven't been to Planeview with my 100-400 (or JFK for that matter). If the weather cooperates Saturday or Sunday (maybe both!) and LGA is landing on 4 I'll go to Planeview, expressway visual or localizer 31 I'll go to the marina.

If anybody's going to be out on Saturday, I'll be flying out on American 1165 to Miami. Though I doubt anybody will be out at 7:45 AM
It's a 762 though, you gotta love photographing the classics!

Mark - Have a great trip and a great time up here in NY. Do some great spotting and I expect to see pictures!

For anyone that is going out, I'll be arriving on jetBlue 830 from PBI at 8:38am - doubt anyone will get any shots of that early arrival on a Saturday :) - but - anyone that will be going out - please - either PM me a cell number or send me a PM and I'll give you mine!

Thanks

I'll be in Vancouver this weekend so no JFK or LGA for me. I'm however driving down to Boeing in Seattle, hopefully it will be nice.

C'mon Moose, everybody knows the 727 is a real classic. But with the 762 being one of my favorites and being dumped by airlines left and right, I figure it's a classic in my book and we should appreciate it all the same :D We sure will miss it when it's gone...

Have a great trip Tommy - bring us back some great Boeing pictures. I've gotta make that trip one of these days.

I'm toying with the idea of coming out tomorrow... but I'm not so sure just yet. If I do, it'll be Kennedy.

Mark - When you check in, make sure you ask for a room facing the airport on a high floor. :)

Phil and I stayed at the Wyndham once, and we had a perfect view of LGA....the windows even opened!

But, I shuld add that everything else about that hotel was not as exciting. We had a very unpleasant experience.

As for the view, it's good, but you lose your photos to heat haze.

Yes, hopefully the Courtyard is better! The photos might be no good, but you can still enjoy the view when you're not outside shooting. :)

I headed out at Sunrise this morning since the wx wasn't promising for the afternoon. Only thing worth shooting was SA.

They chaged runways to 22s and I knew that Aerolinas was bringing in a 340 but it was late. For some dumb reason. Mostly laziness I didn't walk to my suicide spot for 22L, it was cold too and watched it come in from Bayswater (DICKKKKKK). I got some decent departures, BA heavy and some others and headed to Hobe where I met Mark. We had a great time though the clouds came in and nothing from there was really workable. The Emirates took forever to get off the ground and had the sweetest bank too. I felt so bad for Mark but there is always next time. I hope he gets up to NY more often. It was a nice day out.

That is great shot Nick!

As Nick eluded to - the weather was pretty nasty - anyone know how to replace cluds with sunny sky and redo the paintwork? I really liked the wing flex and the bank - just the %^$%&%&%# weather!

Love the wing flex on the Emirates! I would imagine for a passenger not expecting that, it must look scary from inside.

It was a pleasure to meet Mark and Peter and to see Eric again. We had a lot of fun spotting at both LGA & JFK. We had some good conversation as well as enjoying the many different ships that were arriving. I had a lot of fun photographing the three North American's that came in at 22L. I finally got some decent shots of them. Was even pleasant talking to the two NYPD officers. They were pretty cool and didn't bust chops. They should all be that way. Ya gotta come back soon Mark, or better yet we'll take a trip to PBI & FLL!

Here's the first from LGA. JFK to follow!

Thanks guys. I am still steamed I moved and missed the Aerolinas 340 the sun was so good for my suicide spot. It wasn't even that cold.

I was even going to see how cold Bayswater was this morning. I mean it's 6 degrees here without the wind so it's probably going to feel like minus 15 there. Thought better of it though.

Yikes, I knew you had a top of the day there too if the sun was out, what wing flex Mark! I knew when I saw her take forever to get up she would have the best bank. Sorry man that is harsh.

Here are a few of the MANY shots taken at JFK. I tried some new editing in Photoshop. Do they look better, worse or the same? I tend to lean towards warmer colors so they look a little darker to me. But then again my monitor's not calibrated either.

Bellucci,

Your shots look pretty damn good! You've made huge improvements over the past few months. Where'd you learn your new techniques from?

Your last JFK shots are a little backlit though, but great otherwise.

Thanks for the compliments! I've been playing with the shadows/highlights in PS2. It's been working but I'm still getting bad processing rejections from JP and Airfleets. I'm also learning from a lot of the members here when it comes to editing as well. You guys are terrific!
