Can anyone help me with the route info. for this baby?

WN goes to Islip, which is the closest place they serve around NYC, AFAIK.

This plane is going to mostly stay within Texas routes, so it would be very rare to see this in ISP.

Seeing as ISP has no N/S to texas, it also stats on intra state routes, such as FL, and CA and TX as well as a few interstate routes to Texas, such as DAL-HOU, DAL-STL, HOU-MDW, etc etc.

Thanks. Actually I'm in Florida, it'd be great if I knew when it was coming here.

According to Jet Photos.net " Logbook " for N271WN- It has visited BWI and PHL which are somewhat close to ISP soo theres still a possibility- as Alex also mentioned it stays intra - Texas most of the time but who knows ? It sure would be nice to see it at ISP.

N271WN came up on SBS heading to Manchester NH!

Southwest aren't doing a decent job keeping it in Texas!

And why would they buy a 737-700 and keep it caged? Almost seems a waste of money, and that isn't Southwest's style!

Hey Geoff:

They are doing this primarily because 271 has a few features that arent on your tipical WN -700

-Oven galleys

- 3 Bathrooms- Alex can you confirm?

-No Winglets or Normal WN Paint job

271 will be repainted sometime this year, but as I said earlier WN's equipment can change from time to time, for exmple the -500s are normally intra Texas, and yet I have seen a few lately even at ISP, I guess you just have to be at the right place at the right time.

Southwest is in desperate need to receive as many 737-700's as they can at a fast rate. Two -700 from Ford became available, and they wanted to buy it and immedaitly get it into service to help raise capacity.

WN only just retrofitted them with WN seats, and will focus on redoing the interior by taking out the oven galley, and that stuff.

Winglets will be added at a later time I think this month.

So if anyone has any extra -700's laying around, feel free to give SWA a call!

I notice the customer number for these two aircraft (they have 270 as well) is that of Braathens in Norway, which appears not taken up since they went to Fordair. (I have seen both aircraft with their Bermudan registrations).

I suppose keeping them close to Texas is a good idea, as they hopefully can slip them out of service to do the modifications and refit. Winglets wont take long at all!

Eventually, they will be like the rest of the fleet, and likely to be seen anywhere WN -700s fly!

Since we are in the 260 - 270 range, where are the numbers going after 299? 800? 900?

All the best

Since SWA did not use all of the 100 series for the 737-200, most of that will be used instead, and perhaps some of the latter -500 numbers after N525, so in this case to note the difference in regards to Regis..

3/6XX are -300
2,4, 7XX are -700 and possibly N150 and UP (??) will be the new -700's.

I would thin the -800 and -900 series ARE indeed reserved for future possibilties.

I was cutting the grass outside and finally saw it on approach to MCO, late last week.

Weather was cloudy/dark, I still went to see if I could get a crappy long distance takeoff shot and I missed it. It turned around real quick.

She was in Midway on Friday evening. Saw her as I was boarding my flight back to ISP, it was raining and dark out, but you could tell which one it was.

Now that I am in the Orlando Area this might be one I will try to get. Is there any route information out there on when it will be in Orlando again?

When is this plane going to be repainted? Someone on airliners said it would be this month.

By the way is "rudely frisked by TSA cop" the default? I never had anything in there, is this a joke or did someone hijack my account? :D

There is a bunch of different phrases, based on your post level. After I think 500, you get "Needs to Post Less, Watch More Planes"

http://nycaviation.com/forum/faq.php#13

The names under everyone's names like the "Flying First Class", based upon the number of posts a person has, has been changed.

I've created phrases for them set in increments of 10. So every ten posts a person makes, their rank will change to something that hopefully at least brings a smirk to your face.

Before 20 posts, however, a person will still have the title of Newbie.

What are all the phrases? You'll just have to wait and see as the post counts climb.

Note: Please don't make silly posts just for the sake of improving your post count. That's just sad.

any word on this plane? It might have been repainted by now :/

But guess what? I've never shot the shamu either..

and neither the pinky Delta or that 767 in the special livery..

Keep in mind, I've been shooting for years. Yeah I know how sad, and uncool

...and on top of that I'm gonna have to get used to the ugly TSA cop frisking me. I'll be old, fat and bold by the time I reach 500 posts!

Hi folks,
N270WN appeared in Providence this afternoon. It is in Southwest colours, but doesnt have winglets.

I'll post the picture! I thought it was a 737-300 since it didnt have winglets, by the time I realised it was a -700 and grabbed the camera she had turned onto the runway putting her port side into the shade!

Better luck next time!

Also caught EuroAtlantic 757 at Logan this morning, if you check the 757 gallery, you'll find the photo there!

See you all on Monday?!

Ya, N270 was always painted in blue once delivered.

N271 is still in hybrid colors from what I understand.

Might be expecting another used -700, we will see.

Our next plane deliver should be in the 70's now.

Around N273 I think...

N271LV was at ISP on Sat mar 17th. It arrived about 10 minutes before sunset, plus it was overcast so I did not get any photos. It was still white with SWA tls on the tail and no winglets.

Hi folks,
So much for keeping N271LV close to Texas!

Since April 1st, it seems I have seen 271 at Providence almost everyday!! It took until Wednesday 11th to catch it in the sunshine and on digital..

Here is the photo, note N224WN Slam Dunk One in the background!

I caught 269 in Providence on the 12th April - Thursday!!

Where will the numbers go after 299? Will they be numbered 800+, 900+ or go to 1 ?

I'm intrigued - because 290 is already allocated to frame 36632 !!
