Well today has been an awesome day..... My parents tossed a major curve ball on me........ They bought a XTi and stuff at Best Buy but I guess they returned it to screw with me but kept a copy of the receipt around none the less and left it out knowing I would see it.... well I have been all juiced up about getting this camera now for a few weeks as Ron, Tom, Justin, Joey and Josh can attest to and today I got the Sony a100k image stableizing 10.2 megapixel camera with a 18-70 lense a tripod and a bunch of other very nice goodies..... I have a big family BTW and it looks like you will start to see many more of my shots on a.net soon...... How about everyone else?

I'm drooling right now over my TWA and UAL 747s right now. My two babies! I love my UAL Heavies and TWA well just speaks for itself! I also got a wheeled Travel Pro laptop case which my shoulder from running through airports is very thankful for.

Well.. I got a load of cash to get my XTi ($300), a new cell phone and plan, and some other random stuff.

Nice InFlight models, I always feel InFlight makes the best large scale models (I.E. 1:200 and up)

I was going to ask for this:

http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/collectablejets_1928_11941854.jpg

But I opted for the money instead, this was the only decent DC-9 model that wasn't a 1:400 or 1:500 (I only really buy 1:200's and up)

I got:

*A super soft bathrobe
*A Hawaiian 767 model (in 500 scale, so I'm pretending it's a 737 among my 400 scale models ;))
*PJs with stars all over them
*Yahtzee (yes, the game....yes, I'm an old lady)
*Body Shop Holiday gift set - cranberry - yummmmy
*Godiva chocolates and truffles from various folks
*Scarf
*Voltaic solar powered backpack (check it out: http://www.voltaicsystems.com)
*Kitchen stuff for the new place (including a microwave!)
*Hoops and Yoyo plush things - you wouldn't even begin to understand.
*Gift Cards to Sephora, Target (x3), Amex, my Nail Salon, The Body Shop.
*Some random cash.
*Eggplant parm to-go from Phil's mom....trust me, this was probably the best gift of them all. Don't be jealous.

A couple more on the way but here's what I've gotten so far...

-- $$
-- Beavis and Butthead DVD set which includes every episode plus Beavis and Butthead Do America
-- iTunes gift card
-- Starbucks gift card
-- Winning scratch-off lottery ticket ($2!!!)
-- I also got something at work that was really lame, but the wrapping paper was really neat. The gift was an ugly candle that looks like the Jesus candles you'll see for 99 cents in a bodega, but instead of Mary or Jesus, it has stuff about good luck for making money on it. The good part is the guy wrapped it in real stock certificates from now defunct companies, Penn Central Railroad, Penn Sulfur, and PAN AMERICAN WORLD AIRLINES. The Pan Am ones were savable, the others were in unfixable condition and I threw them away. I think I can get one of the Pan Am certificates to frameable condition.

Here are the gifts I got for others. I like to give practical/meaningful gifts, but I was swamped with work this month and had little time for shopping, even online, so a lot of people got gift cards that I purchased at my local CVS.
-- Mom: Kohl's gift card
-- Dad: Marriott gift card
-- Brother: American Musical Supply gift card
-- Friend: Replica vintage Gary Carter Mets jersey
-- Friend: Nip/Tuck, seasons 2 and 3
-- Friend + Wife: Gadget that chills beverages really really fast, plus a Home Depot gift card

I got a laundry bag.....that was the best gift of the year
Were there any wrinkled shirts at the bottom of the bag?

Holy moly, there are our kitties again!

Well, with our first baby on final ;), been getting baby stuff,

-a baby book about cars trains and planes
-a solid wooden bi-plane to build, paint and assemble for baby.
-gift certificate to Smith and Wollensky YUMMYYYYYYYYY!!!
-a book on taking better photos
-a night at the W Union Square in Manhattan and tickets to ...the Drowsy Chaperone
-lotsa lotsa bottles of wine and champagne
-Chanukah gelt
-a nice new shirt
-Cockpits calendar
-Waterfalls moving picture
-chandelier (can you tell we are still readying the house?)
-$$$

...so I didnt get lots aviation-wise but what I did get was wild. I mean the cockpit Calendar is way old school, lots of WW2 cockpits in there. And the biplane for build for the baby, I mean, that's wild. Whether boy or girl, the imprinting has begun.

What's weird is that I *think* I want models, but when I get them...they just take up room. That's weird but I think I'm at a weird point in my life. I'd love an Hogan model but would rather have a round trip somewhere :)

Hope you all are enjoying the holidays!
