This guy sued the city for being arrested for panhandling 27 times. Apparently the city law that arrested pan handlers was declared unconstitutional in 1992.

Nice quick way to make $100k without finding a job. Boy do I hate this city.

I don't blame you - arresting someone for a law which was declared unconstitutional over a decade ago. Sort of like when the police started enforcing the law about photography on the subways, even though it was only a proposal and was never actually passed by the city council.

This is nothing compared to my two favorites... $14 million won by a woman who lost her legs but failed to die while attempting suicide by laying in front of an E train (she claimed she changed her mind and was actually trying to get back to the platform), and $76 million won by a guy who was paralyzed by police bullets after refusing to drop his Uzi (I think he claimed the cop never identified himself). I believe both awards were reduced on appeal, but it's bad enough jurors will find the city liable for this nonsense.
