I mentioned this in the Dialy JFK Report, but I felt it warranted it's own thread.
G-XLAI came in this evening and is at T4. I looked up the regi on Anet and saw that it used to be painted in Excel Airways colors. I guess it was recently repainted.

Anyone know its mission here? Just a one time thing or something we'll see a bit more in the future?

It appears that Xtra Airways is running charters to POS and two other destinations from JFK on a weekly basis, looks like POS is daily.

Wow. Oversaturated routes anyone?
Primaris, TravelSpan and ExtraAirways have now started doing GEO.
Could is be that Travelspan is using the Xtra aircraft or something?
Makes little sense to fly a 737 on a flight to those destinations. There isn't enough room to handle all of the bags that go on those routes. Many will get left behind.

Yes, I thought the Xtra 737 was flying for Travelspan now.. I could be wrong though...

Does anyone know, are there that many Trinis and Guyanese that live in the NYC area to support all this service?

I was able to confirm that Xtra is flying for TravelSpan. Honestly, I realyl wouldn't be surprised if theyhad a second flight to GEO just to handle all of their left behind baggage.
There is a pretty large concentration of Guyanese folks in South Ozone Park and in Sunnyside as well, no to mention that they arescattered around a bit as well.
Also keep in mind that it's the holidays.
