Frontier Airlines to offer nonstop flights from Bradley to Denver starting in March

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (AP) Frontier Airlines will offer daily, nonstop flights from Connecticut's Bradley International Airport to Denver for as low as $99 one way beginning in March, the low-cost carrier and airport officials announced Tuesday.

Frontier will fly new Airbus A319s between Bradley and Denver every day starting March 2. Flights from Bradley to Denver will leave at 5:35 a.m. and flights from Denver to Bradley will depart at 11:55 p.m.

From Denver, passengers can catch Frontier connecting flights throughout the western United States and to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Denver-based Frontier is making its first appearance at Bradley. The new service will offer the first nonstop flights between Bradley and Denver since 2001.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell noted that the airport also recently announced new flights from Bradley to Amsterdam that will start next year, and that Embraer Aircraft Holding Inc. has selected Bradley for a new $11 million Northeast service center.

``Bradley Airport is soaring to new heights, and that's great news for our state's economy,'' Rell said. ``Bradley is a transportation resource with unlimited potential, and this string of announcements is indicative of an incredibly bright future.''

Frontier said the Airbus A319s feature 33 inches of legroom, 24 channels of DirecTV service and a choice of three pay-per-view movies in every seatback.

Frontier, which began service in 1994, offers about 250 daily departures and arrivals at Denver International Airport and has about 4,800 employees in North America. The airline has 55 aircraft, including 48 Airbus A319s and seven Airbus A318s.

Bradley, about 15 miles north of Hartford, is the second largest airport in New England after Boston's Logan International Airport.
