View Full Version : The INSANE Identify the Plane Game #2

PhilDernerJr
2006-11-26, 03:48 PM
Ok, here are the rules:

1. One guess per photo.

2. Don't guess more than once until we see that people are having a tough time figuring out what the plane is (use judgement, but give people a chance to participate if you are wrong the first time).

3. Don't post new photos until the previous set of photos are completed.

4. Follow the instructions, and half answers will not count! Each photo might have a different requirement. If it's two part or you give other info, it won't count.

5. When posting photos, be fair. Don't post something impossible, or something too easy. Try to find that middle ground.

Ok, let's get it started:

1) Identify AIRLINE and aircraft TYPE:
http://nycaviation.com/pichost/myst1126a.jpg

2) Identify aircraft TYPE (bonus for naming owner):
http://nycaviation.com/pichost/myst1126b.jpg

3) Identify the REGISTRATION!:

Anyone have any ideas for #2?

Alex T

Sounds like Bobby got them right.

For Number 2 , I think it is Alitalia Express and the aircraft is a Embraer ERJ 145LR?

Alex

It cant be ALitalia express, it has to be some sort of private jet. maybe the challagner 700?

NcSchu
2006-11-26, 10:13 PM
Actually, wait, it's not. It doesn't seem to be a 737 or 757 either, so my next guess is a United Express CRJ

Iberia A340-600

nwafan20
2006-11-27, 09:09 PM
1 is right, 2 is a half answer (Give the carrier that is operating the aircraft. 'Tis a special livery for that carrier)

I think #3 is going to be the hardest, bonus points for the person who gets that! (Double points! Now you ask, what do points do? Well that is the beauty of it... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!)

SengaB
2006-11-27, 09:12 PM
#5 is Airtran 717

Sorry

Mateo
2006-11-28, 12:45 AM
#5 is certainly a 707, but it's not Travolta, and I don't think it's any of the USAF models. It could be one of those random African governments that show up for UN week, but the only 707 that comes around here in a blue scheme is 88ZL.

SengaB
2006-11-28, 01:05 AM
So what shall your answer be Mateo? :)

Senga

nwafan20
2006-11-28, 08:14 AM
No prob senga! I'm stumped on the ones of yours that are left.

P.s. on picture #2 of mine, the key feature to give it away is the APU, study the APU and compare it to other airplanes.

SengaB
2006-11-28, 08:25 PM
Well I guess I should give up the last 2...

Iberia, You get the White DC-8 Gordon, 50 percent because it was actually. (American Internatioal Airways) but Kittyhawk absorbed their DC-8s L-1011s and B747-200s for a very short time and painted them white with the twin blue stripes and added Kity hawk titles. Great guess I wonder how you knew its previous owner but not the last as Kitty hawk.
http://www.nycaviation.com/hosting/cat.jpg
http://www.nycaviation.com/hosting/cat02.jpg

The other pik with the Two blue engines is yes 707-300 N88ZL....This one goes to no one other than Mr.No One himself :)

I was hoping Mateo would claim this one as he mentioned it but didn't claim it as an answer :(

Until next time thx for playing boys and girls!
Whos next? Go for it.

Mateo
2006-11-28, 09:42 PM
#1 is a Dash 8. No clue on the operator, so I'll take a wild stab and guess Mesa.

For #4, I'll go offbeat and say Continental 753.

nwafan20

Okay - it has to be NWA 757 then!! :)

It's the APU on a E-170 belonging to US Airways, the tail of the aircraft in the background is a Us Airways (New Colors) CRJ-200, formerly of America West.

Since none of you get that, I declare myself the master!! MUAHAHA, Senga, I demand that if I ever come out, I will get to go spotting with you.... FOR FREE!!, Bad weather and all! ;)
