Here's what everyone is trying to tell you.... JFK does see some GA traffic but theres not many, if any who really cares. Its very common stuff that you could drive to FRG or most GA airports and see a bunch of. Also most people will put the owners name as a bank for tax reasons. That plane likely isnt flying around Wachovia personnel. But I could be wrong.

When I was out at JFK in December, I believe there were several Delta 764 flights a day. I remember being in T3 and seeing one of those flights arrive from Europe and then continue on to MCO. Did scheduled 764 flights to JFK stop since December?

The Eva Cargo 747 used to alternate with the MD-11s. Guess they still bring it in occasionally.

The El Al 767 surprises me. I guess there are still some out there, but its been awhile since they were routine. I beleive they use one for VIP as well.

I am guessing because it caused less delays due to the fact that the runways are between the CTA and that the aircraft that just landed on 22L don't have to wait and cross 22R.

Technically I am not allowed to have a camera in the tower, but nobody said I can't use the camera on my Blackberry. I was reluctant to post the shot, but Phil insisted. The A/C was a 747-300 Reg: TF-MAJ. It came East on B to N then on A to F to 22R. It operated XLA124 to Orlando Sanford. It was originally Sked Glascow to SFB, but diverted to JFK for unknown reasons. FlightAware shows it doing a regular service from SFB to Manchester as XLA131. I thought the shot was pretty cool because it shows the tail end of a squall line that moved west to east across the North Channel Bridge thru Rockaway and Long Beach.

Thats funny how you mentioned it I got that newly painted XLA 743 just yesterday at SFB. XLA 747-300s are almost daily here. Usually 2 a day sometimes 3 a day. Recently painted. I remember when it was white witha red tail and red engines only AMJ.

Yeah, genrally a 9000 block is either a ferry, charter, or an unscheduled but built in block to cover something or make up for something. That is the block of number most carriers use for those kinds of flights.

Interesting. One time, I was flying CO from IAH to DEN. The preceding flight to DEN (a 737) was ground-stopped for several hours, and our plane (a 757) was stuck in EWR with mechanical problems. So they canceled our flight, and put all of the pax from our flight and the preceding flight on a 777, which the pilot was just barely able to shoehorn into a gate at DEN. But we went by the flight number the old flight would have used. So I assumed that's what everyone did.

That 757 N741PA is Constellation. Its there every now and then or sometimes you will see the 757 N740PA there which is the silver and purple like plane with a "C" on the silver & purple tail fin. In fact i believe they both belong to Primaris Airlines if im not mistaken.

I disagree. 947 has been on the Evergreen several times in the past month. The White Icelandair I have seen at least twice this week alone. Virgin new colors 600, I'll give, but I have seen it once already, though I missed it today. AA winglets actually is very common. In fact there have been times this month when 2 wingleted 757's sat side by side at 8.

Negative bro. There were no markings at all on the tail. Only a cheat stripe across the middle of the tail as well as engines and fuselage. I couldn't see a reg as it banked into the sun.

With I believe 4 A-319's a day the US (West) Special Scheme A-319's are fairly regular JFK visitors. Unfortuantly I think only 1 of the 4 arrives in decent light as two are late night and 1 almost pre dawn arrivals.

Oh and BTW the original (757) Arizona scheme will hopefully be making a few JFK appearances in the next few weeks, before her mid Septemeber repaint into the new US livery, as the US West 757 returns to JFK starting this Sunday 8-19 !

ETA: Upon further consideration, could also be ABX Air (think Airborne Express) - they carry a lot of DHL's freight, so it makes sense that you would see it over by DHL.

There were two Cathay A340-600 departures today, while one was the scheduled flight to HKG the other was B-HQC which I am told has been parked at JFK for over a week now. The flight must have been a test run as the landing gear stayed down!

The UA 757 winglet mods are being done at Timco at GSO, so the ferry to JFK was probably the first, other than test flights. I was e-mailed 2 photos, hard to tell but I think it's N517UA, and they plan on doing 28 by March. I think many of you are going to really like these, 4 shades of blue stripes on both the inner and outer winglit. I would imagine will often be on the JFK to LAX and SFO flights.
