Hi all,

just a few shots I took today of the A380 visit at our small airport in Dusseldorf, Germany.

it was very crowded, about 100.000 people were there and even at the fences it was so crowded I had some trouble finding a place to stand with my ladder :

now two shots of the A380 :

Yeah, you wish! Just like your secret admire for the 787 over the A350XWB, yeah, I know you sit in bed at night thinking about how awesome the 787 is! :D

You know how they made the A350? Here is the secret insider look at the process:

I wonder how much Boeing paid for that clip to be made in some garage. :P See how cheap they are if they would have $ they'd put it on a scoreboard at Safeco Field. hahaha

lets not worry about NWAfan, he is just upset because he see his whole life hes been flying on the wrong side of the Atlantic. 8)
but don't worry, Boeing is going to do well because they 787 does not cost much to make. all you need is a 777 and a can of spray paint.
:D :D

Yeah yeah yeah, that's why the 787 is the best selling airplane in history before launch. Yup, just a 777 and spray paint get nearly 500 orders! 8)

does it?

Boeing-81 planes
81 is a smaller number then 153

Douglas was not made by Boeing, but they got taken over by Boeing.
Bombardier and Embraer are not Boeing.
they to not have the 787 yet, but even with it the fleet size would be 99 Boeing, still less then airbus
i hope you understand mr. AIRBUSfan20

Hi all,

I could be mistaken, but you might be the first NYCA member to shoot the 380.

If I am mistaken, whoever posted shots in the past, please correct me. :)

As Matt (G-BOAD) said, I think there is no need to question anything, plain and simple.

Boeing 747-400 16
Boeing 757-200 46
Boeing 757-300 16

I'm not counting the 787's, because who's going to pay for them? hahahaha Better start saving up Matt. :P

guys, ahem, is this nycaviation.com or airliners.net?

Enough with the Airbus Boeing nonsense!

This plane is a joke, the market isn't calling for it. Its no wonder EADS stock is in the $hitter. As long as the 787 proves to the market all it promises Airbus is going to have a real hard time catching up.

I am sorry but I feel the A380 was always a "my dick is bigger than yours" kind of thing with Airbus. They got hell bent on building this thing and I think they failed to look down the road. At this point they have created a very grave situation that they can't get out of. If they do get this thing into commercial service I don't think the orders will be there to cover the costs and the dreamliner will destroy thing from a practical standpoint. More and more carriers are bailing out on the 380 and it isn't looking too good.

BTW great pics, it's good to see the 380 at least is sparking a lot of aviation enthusiam.

You're forgetting one thing, A380 is not a direct competitor to the B787, it's just two different philosophies that are at play here.

Boeing set out with a bigger aircraft IE. 747 when the market wasn't also too promising. As the demand will grow so will the sizes of airplanes or as in this case one philosophy will win over another. And if you are going to tell me that Boeing built the 747 just because of economy and the demand without including some self centrism, you might want to reassess the current situation of Airbus. Every plane maker suffers from it and I think they have a right to it. I bet that if it would be a Boeing machine you would defend it and at least be a bit quiet if it came to the criticism. I'm actually conscious of the mistakes Airbus made and I think that they deserve all of what's on right now.

I can't believe you guys took our little taunting standoff seriously.

The only reason why NW's airbus fleet is so large is because of the A320 series, most carriers most amount of planes are domestic planes (737,A320) and NW choose the A320

As for the A380:

There is no market for it, the 747 was different, there was a market for that size aircraft. Plus, airlines were regulated then and most put bars in the upper bubble since they didn't have cost competition.

Hi guys,

yes this might be true....good "old" Europe I guess, also interesting to see the A380 making it's rounds always to Asia, seems it's avoiding Boeing homeland....

but, at the end it's just a plane, so just chill guys :D

I saw the A380 (two, actually) last December in TLS. Weather was absolutely horrible and only got somewhat bearable on my last day. I saw F-WWOW (Airbus colors) and F-WWDD (EK colors) at TLS on my way back to CDG.

Here's F-WWDD (taken during takeoff):

Weather was bad, but I did see her. :D
