Nunchaku packing woman booked

Jo Nell Bittinger admitted giving police a fake name because she didn't want to be arrested, records show.
The 39-year-old Mesa woman had three outstanding warrants.
She was also carrying a 9mm pistol and nunchakus (commonly called nunchucks) -- hardwood sticks joined by a rawhide, chain or cord --in her waistband when police contacted her in the 9900 block of East Broadway Road around 9:45 a.m. Saturday, records show.
When police tried to arrest her, Bittinger fought them until she was handcuffed by officers. Police found the gun and nunchakus when they searched her, records show.
Bittinger was booked on suspicion of resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, and false reporting to police, records show.
