How friendly can pilots are?
Finnish pilots are proud and waving (http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5828665)
but Belgium pilots are showing the middelfinger (http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5682694) to photographers!
Some airliners are instructing the crew to be so friendly as possible in case of the spotters!

It depends some pilots are just jerks. I perfer to be nice to spotters personally being a hobbiest myself but some pilots just like to be rude

At this (http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=268487) arline it's part of the pilots' checklist to wave at the spotters.
This co-pilot (http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5665541) seems to change the lightbulb in the cockpit rather then waving at us :-)
But the most SENSATIONAL (http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=463056) is this one, where the captain had found some time to wave during take-off!

I always wave at spotters and try to be friendly! I've got a friend who wrote his e-mail address on a large piece of paper and then held it up in the window in front of a bunch of spotters taxiing out for takeoff. A few days later he got several e-mails from them with pictures of him in the jet and of the takeoff... Pretty cool!
