Hello all,

I'm nwafan20, My home airport is DTW, my favorite airline is NWA, and I am a aviation enthusiast and photography enthusiast. I'm in high school and looking at getting my College degree in Airfield management, but become a commercial pilot.

Alright, currently, I am using a 7.2MP digital point and shoot. Soon, I am planning to upgrade to a digital SLR. My budget it about $700 including a GOOD lens or two. I was looking at the Olympus Evolt E-500, anyone have any experience with this camera? I know it's not a Canon or Nikon and that is why I am being careful about buying it, I don't want to buy it than turn around and buy a new camera. So, what do you guys think, heres a link to the Cnet review on the camera:

Also, in case anyone is interested, here are my jetphotos.net photos, not the best, but I don't have the camera to take better pictures with, nor the skill yet in photoshop to make my photos super-good, But I have improved a lot since my first upload acceptance (The NW old colors 757)

I hope I will enjoy many good discussions on this fourm.

The Evolt isn't a bad camera by any means. Below is a link to a professional photographer I know in Alaska, that's all she uses. Her work will give you a good sample of what you can get with the Evolt. Oh and just a note, I was with her when she took her current homepage picture. She's very cool and will be more then happy to answer any questions you have about the Evolt.
