Price of gas

So I thought it would be interesting to see what the price of gas is near you. The price has been coming down and just last week I was saying to someone I don't think we'll see it in the 2s for a long time. However today I paid $2.84 at BJs. While its not cheap it’s nice to see it coming down. Anyone thing we'll see it at a dollar something ever again??

$2.71 for regular here in Sarasota and i could not picture it but maybe one eighties sometime down the road

I got gas at an expensive gas station in my town today... paid $2.67 for regular... the cheap gas station is $2.62 right now.

I paid $3.19 in College Point, Queens, two days ago.

Here in Colorado the gas prices really haven't fluctuated much since they hit about $2.90... We never really went much above $3, but never really went much below $2.80.

On base, where gas is not taxed, gas is $2.85 (at last check), but you can get it off base, where gas is taxed, for $2.83 at certain stations - isn't that something!

Most places are averaging about $2.90 though...

The National Average is $2.85, down 15.5 cents in the last two weeks, but up 24 cents since last year... Des Moines, IA has the cheapest average gas prices at $2.43 a gallon but Ohio has the lowest state average at $2.55 a gallon...

There is good news in that the price of gas is forecasted to keep on decreasing...

Will we ever see gas fall below $2.00? Probably not anytime soon, although it'd be REALLY, REALLY nice....

Also, according to MSN.com, the Getty station on 3rd AVE in Brooklyn (538 3rd Ave) is at $2.77 a gallon, almost 20 cents cheaper than on Ft. Hamilton where it is $2.97 a gallon.


Interestingly enough, in Swedesboro, NJ gas is $2.48 a gallon! And to think that number includes some fee to pay someone else to pump your gas for you!

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The recent drop in prices at the pump could pick up steam, driving gasoline sharply lower in coming months, USA Today reported Wednesday.

'We'll be closer to $2 than $3 come Thanksgiving,' Fred Rozell, a gas analyst at at the Oil Price Information Service, told the newspaper.

The average cost of a gallon of gas peaked this year at $3.036 on Aug. 10, the newspaper said, citing surveys by the motorist organization AAA and Rozell's OPIS.

AAA reported a nationwide average of $2.84 Tuesday, the lowest since April 20, according to the article.

Online gasoline price survey site Gasbuddy.com shows Wednesday's national average at $2.80.

Several factors are behind the recent declines: the end of the summer driving season, which reduces consumer demand for gasoline as well as, the end of seasonal federal requirements on gas that makes the cost of importing and refining it cheaper, the newspaper reported.

Overall gas consumption is down for the year, which takes the edge off wholesalers prices, who in turn are trying to get rid of the product.

Finally, petroleum traders, worried that high prices won't last, are anxious to sell their holdings, the newspaper reported.

Crude oil, accounting for about half the price of gasoline, closed below $70 a barrel Tuesday for the first time since May 4.

regular does around 1,41EUR/L at the cheapest gasstation in town. Converted it is $6,85 a Gallon. Cheapest you get is 1,32EUR, wich is $6,42 a gallon
