NEW YORK, June 6, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- JetBlue Airways (NasdaqNM:JBLU - News) today announces it will begin nonstop service between its hometown New York (John F. Kennedy International Airport) and Nashville, TN, effective August 31, 2006. A special introductory fare of $69(a) each way is available for purchase through June 30, for travel through October 31. Regular fares will range from $89(a) to $299(a), which are 50 to 70 percent lower than fare offered before JetBlue's arrival.

Hope you new yorkers like country music!!!!

BNA is only 2 hrs and 15 minutes from me, not that much farther then STL, very nice to see them close to me in a way.

I don't like country music although I'm not to surprised with this choice. Nashville is a huge tourist destination (amazingly) and low fare service to the New York area doesn't exist since WN dropped ISP-BNA in Feb. The E190 is also probably a better plane to use then the 737.

This route should do well. WN did have ISP-BNA but ISP probably could not support it but JFK and B6 sure can. They will do well on this and I think if it does do well they should add BOS-BNA.
