When i was in college ( not too long ago, 2001-2004) I went to school in Washington DC, and was a member of the Army ROTC program... because of this people from my school used to lay down outside my dorm room with signs on them saying "dead civilian" "dead child" etc, etc... it used to really piss me off, but as long as we continue to support the troops thats all that matters... you dont have to agree with the government ( god knows i dont) but i am thankful every day for my buddies over there doing what they're doing for us...

Well said.

Despite what the current administration will have you believe, there is a difference between supporting our troops and blindly following the government. I served in the Air Force. I had friends die while serving. Once or twice I thought I was going to die too. Fortunately I wasn't in a shooting war, but trust me when I say there were times the Cold War got scary. I made sacrifices (not as large as some) to serve my country and defend the Constitution. One of the most basic rights we have is Freedom of Speech - I may not agree with everything you say, but I will defend your right to say it. It sickens me to see the way the current administration has ignored the rule of law, and twisted logic so that it becomes "disloyal" or "unpatriotic" to speak out against the government. I guess that means Washington, Jefferson, Adams and Franklin were "disloyal" or "unpatriotic" too. If that's the case, count me as one of them.

Support our troops...bring them home!

While I respect the right of all citizens to free speech and their choice of what religion they practice, our country was also founded on the unwritten rule of respect. Regardless of what these people think they should have the good sense of respecting the families of the deceased by letting them mourn in peace. Anyone with a sense of dignity would know a funeral is no place for a protest.

The Administration has done a thing, to stop our right to protest, blame the media for spreading that false rumor around.

Sometimes though, people do not understand the difference for supporting the troops & not supporting the goverment. Just because they will not allow the media to film coffins of our Service Members, that does not mean the Government is trampling on our rights. The Media would like nothing more than to have a Coffin of a Military Member on the front page of the New York times.

It is disgusting the way the way the Media & certain groups such as moveon.org to support their anti-way message, the Military is not a tool to use to spread a message.

I to couldn't watch this for too long - she made me want to go out and lower the suspension on my car to make sure that I didn't miss her. What makes it even more pathetic to watch that is that I recently (Friday 4/21) was granted my citizenship to the US. I'm British-born, South African-raised and have lived in the US for 8 years. Becoming a citizen was an important thing for me and to watch (or try to watch) people like that that are born and bred here - it doesn't sit right to me. Sorry...don't mean to get on a soap-box...just a very proud (brand new) American that feels strongly about people running the country down....

The way I see it, the only difference between her and the American Taliban movement (read: Christian fundamentalists) is guts. Fundies across the country think exactly the same way as her and are rooting her on...they just haven't had the balls to show up at a soldier's funeral. Why doesn't Sean Hannity invite Pat Robertson on his show and grill him about the atrocious things he has said? He has millions of followers, compared to this woman who just has a giant whack job family.
