Hey Guys,

If the weather permits I'll be visiting JFK again this Saturday. Anybody is planning on coming to JFK on Saturday?

Thai's A345 usually arrives between 6am and 7am and departs between 11am and 12pm. Things have changed since I saw it last (apparently it's on a reduced schedule, too), so I need someone to fill in all the details.

I'm going home this weekend...so Kennedy is out of the question for me. HOWEVER, I do plan on going spotting at Dulles on March 11 or 12 (in conjunction with a trip to VA Beach and spotting F-14s, F-15s, F/A-18s, and F-22s) and would love to find out the best places to spot!

Rafal and Omar, unfortunately I won't be able to meet up with you guys this Saturday, but don't forget that Brian and I will be at BWI two weekends later on Saturday the 18th. Our flight gets in around 9:30am, and we don't leave until after dark. If either of you are able to meet up that day, give me a call on my cell phone during the day and we'll coordinate. 917-660-7871.

Bonjour Raphael,

we're going to stick with Saturday....weather is pretty much the same both days and keep in mind that a few of us (including me) have already made plans to drive up for the day from D.C., so changing would really be inconvinient. Anyway, I hope you can make it out on Saturday....I look forward to meeting you! :)

It was a great day today! We had quite a crowd - Phil & Melanie, Tommy, Brian, Senga(!) plus Rafal, Blendi and Omar from BWI and our new friend from Paris, Raphael. Yes it was cold, we had a couple of Port PD cops stop by (they said they had gotten "lots" of calls, but it looked like they were shopping at Costco and just happened to see us) but it was a good day of spotting.

The highlight had to be the AA757 with winglets (and if you were within 10 miles of Costco, you could have heard Tommy yelling "WINGLETS! WINGLETS!")

When it got too dark to shoot, Phil, Mel, Brian, Tommy & I went to Dave & Buster's for dinner and games.

Yes it was a long day, but a whole lot of fun! Hope to do it again soon.

My thoughts exactly Moose! Really was great day all around, a bit windy and cold but JFK again had some nice surprises like the AA 757 with winglets and the 767 from Alitalia. Rafal, Omar, and Blendi it was great seeing your guys and I'm looking forward to seeing you soon in March!

It was great getting out again and meeting up with Rafal, Blendi again and finally getting to meet Omar! Nice to meet Raphael from France as well. If I ever do move back to the DC,VA, MD metro area its always good to know there are some great guys down there to shoot with!

BTW after the rest of us left the Costco parking lot I notices the Cops pulling into where we were. I also noticed another one going into the BK parking lots where the other guys went.
Looks like we left just in time.
The Boston Market/Air Tahiti shot had to have been the most amazing part of the day. I'll let someone else share this story!

I'll second everything - had a great time! Couldnt've asked for a clearer (or colder) day. It's always fun to just go and hang out for the day with the regulars and meet up with the guys from DC as well...or maybe that's just because they come more prepared than we do!

Also looking forward to meeting up with you again within the next month, Raph. :)

Hey, Tommy, why don't you show everybody your shots of the Alitalia MD11 or the Emirates and Thai A345 departures? ;)

Also, as mentioned in a different thread by Brian, I got my beloved Pink Song (though it was arriving LGA and we were at Costco....we even went on a wild goose chase trying to catch the departure, but thanks to ****ty traffic, we turned back around :()

Again, any and all feedback is MUCH appreciated!

Just wanted to add, nice shooting by everyone. And let it be know that those Icelandair shots were taken under the watchful eyes of 2 Port PD officers. They had just rolled up and asked what we were doing, and for ID as the plane came by. They waited patiently until we were done shooting before collecting our IDs. Thanks, guys!

I wonder what the folks in Boston Market thought when we all rushed out to get the Air Tahiti shots?

And Tommy, what are those funny things on the wing of that AA 757?

I haven't gotten a chance to post much of anything since SAturday, but I've got a few minutes right now, so let's do it! First off, I've gotta say that I had an awesome time spotting and hanging out with you guys and I must thank each and every one of you for braving the bitter cold so that you could keep us company - Senga, Brian, Phil, Mel, John, Tommy and Raphael. If you guys hadn't showed up, Rafal would have still been sleeping in the car when the Iceair 75F came in and if that had been the
case, you would not have wanted to be in the car for the drive back to D.C., hahaha. Special thanks to Blendi and Rafal for taking me with you guys....hopefully I will be able to come along next time! I've uploaded some shots that I thought I'd share with y'all...enjoy!
