While you two clowns were apparently living large in the Windy City, Brian, me, Eric and Monty were having our own fun at LAX and Van Nuys.

Sunshine. Warm Weather in January. Swaying Palm Trees. Lots of Awesome Airplanes. Oh, and did I mention....In N Out Burger.

Later tonight I'll post a separate thread about our trip. Suffice to say we had a blast.

Looking forward to the MDW details, even though I hear you guys didn't meet up with Bruce Guy. :)

I'll try to get some pics up this weekend, nothing to crazy WN and ATA mostly. Otherwise the trip was fun and the flights were very good. Phil got some gifts from the ATA FAs on our way out to MDW. They thought it was cute of him to wear his ATA hat. Really though ATA's staff at LGA, MDW, and in flight were outstanding. Professional and personal, you can tell they liked their job and were proud of their airline but also enjoyed getting to know their customers.

Our flight out wasn't to eventful so I won't go into details, but our flight back was bit more interesting. The bird we were on was just fitted with ATA's new biz class cabin and upgrades were only 40 dollars so we went ahead and upgraded. The biz class seats weren't new but looked allot like AA's older domestic first class seats. It was a combination of HP's first class and AirTran's biz class. Free drinks, foot rests, priority boarding a real bulkhead between cabins, not bad at all. However we were delayed an hour leaving MDW because of ATC at LGA and then sat in the plane at the gate for about 45 mins and even circled for a good 30 mins.

Sitting next to me was one of ATA's Sr. Capts and a 733 flight instructor. We chatted about allot of different things pertaining to ATA and WN. Its seems both airlines are very happy with the code-share and its bringing money into both companies. He did give me some details about a major announcement coming up between WN and TZ. If its true and comes to pass I think its going to blow every ones socks off.

We did have medical emergency on-board and the FA's did inquire over the PA if a Doctor was on the plane and luckily there was. Apparently a passenger may have had a heart attack but the Dr. couldn't confirm it. The FA did come over to the Sr. Capt. next to me and I heard her saying the Pilot didn't want to ask for a priority landing if the Dr. wasn't sure if it was a heart attack or not. She seemed a bit upset by this and the Sr. Capt got up and spoke to the cockpit. Whether or not we got priority landing I don't know, the approach seemed normal.

When we arrived at the gate EMTs came on and attended to the passenger. We didn't see him because they let the biz class passengers off before they took him off. LGA itself was a total mad house, every single airline must have had delays because there was people all over the place. I mean you could barely move around concourse B.

Overall even with the crappy weather it was a good time. MDW does have a couple really really good spotting locations. If we had some sun we would have had some real killer shots, but what can you do.

It was a great weekend.

Our flight to MDW was on N310TZ, which is an important plane to me. It was the plane I shot in my first Anet photo back on September 21, 2002. If you look at the most popular photos of N310TZ, 4 of the top 5 are mine.

Adjustable headrests, roomy leather seats and unlimited pretzels (for me anyway, lol).

When we were next to depart on rwy 31, the landing traffic was going past us. Though not a great photo, I managed to get a shot of this:

The ride was fun. I spoke a bit with our flight attendants who were very friendly guys and hooked me up with new and old ATA wings. After the flight, I was able to get a cockpit shot:

Our stay i Chicago was a good time. The weather didn't really cooperate, but Tommy and I still managed to see some good stuff and get some shots that I was actually pleased with.

Our return flight was on N332TZ, seen in the second to last photo. The storm that Chicago had all weekend was slowing thigns up in NY by this point, and we had an hour wait at the gate. Once we got into the air, it was a little bumpy. Then, the f/a's asked if there was a doctor on board. Some guy was having chest paints. Then we started descending and I thought that we were diveritng to Rochester or something. turns out we were just that close to NYC after all.

But then we were put in a holding pattern for about 30 minutes.

We finally landed on rwy 22 and when we deplaned, the termianl was LOADED with people like I've never seen. All the delays had many stranded.

We had flown Business Class on the way back, and it was great. Anytime you cna sprawl out and relax on a planelike that with your legs out is a great feeling. ATA is a great airline from inside and outside.

Tommy, excellent job, despite the crappy looking weather all those shots are sharp and crisp ! Very, very nice !

Yeah. I've noticed a trend with pilots. You tell them you want to take a cockpit photo, and they do a quick spring cleaning.....which always includes putting the HUD in position. It usually creates some kind of glare, but if came out alright there. :)

Nice pics, but when I saw the 737 cockpit pic I started to think about other pics I've seen of the 737 cocpit and it made me think about how
I hate when someone takes a pic of a cockpit on A.net or someplace and they make it look so "wide and spacious", but when you actually get inside the cockpit you're like "This is it?, What the hell?"

lmao agreed, even worse with the 717
