Ouch. Of all the airlines to do it, it's the one that pushed Indy Air into the world solo to begin with. Why is United doing this though? If Indy is sitll going for another day, why would they start doing this early? Is this is agreement with Indy or United being evil?

After 9/11 congress passed a law requiring airlines who serve the same routes as a defunct airline offer passengers passage from the defunct airline passage. However the Yahoo article fails to mention there is a $50 fee attached to UAL's offer. Part of the law states the fee for carriage on the new airline is $50. US Airways already announced the same thing the day after Indy said it would shut down. As for UAL starting today, remember you have lots of people beginning their trips today and tomorrow on Indy who won't return until after Indy stops flying.
