That explains it!!

I guess incidents are a good thing in certain ways.

I recall hearing about the A300 Super transporter coming into LGA when an Air Canada had engine trouble.

I recall hearing about the A300 Super transporter coming into LGA when an Air Canada had engine trouble.

I believe that was actually after an incident with the rudder (I believe it was hit by another aircraft's wingtip). The Super Transporter ferried in a whole new vertical stabilizer...or maybe it was just the rudder. Something like that.

I know Ron has all the details.

By what was probably the greatest stroke of aviation-related luck in my life so far, I was on an Amtrak train passing LGA when the A300 Super Transporter was taking off from LGA. I kept looking at it, waiting for it to turn into another 737...but its comparative size next to the 737s, A320s, etc on the ground left me with hardly any doubt that it was the "beluga". A couple years ago I came upon a thread on airliners.net that confirmed my sighting. Unfortunately I didn't have a camera at hand.

The Beluga LGA visit was to bring in a whole new stabilizer for the AC 320 that was hit by a Sky Chef Catering Truck.

And the Volga-Dnepr AN-124 that was seen at EWR on 12-28 was still there on 12-30 when I drove by on 95 !

Cheers

Yeah oyu guys on SUnday I saw it . It was around 9:00am and it was an AN-124. And even though SUnday was a low visibility day the ceiling was high and that thing sounded like a BA, or Kalitta 747. The engines were so close together (at least from my view).

Did anyone get the reg of the Newark VDA A124? It appears it's the same one that was present on 04Jan, but was too dark to read by the time I arrived.
