Flight Attendant Caught With Loaded Gun at Philadelphia Airport, Cop Accidentally Fires It

Philadelphia Police patch

A Republic Airways flight attendant and a Philadelphia police officer are both in hot water after an incident with a loaded gun at Philadelphia International Airport.

Neither of the parties were identified, so we’ve given them fake names to compound their idiocy.

First, about that flight attendant Forgetful Jones. Early Sunday morning, she carried a loaded .38 caliber handgun through security and got caught. She had a permit to own the gun, but not the kind that lets you walk around an airport and board a commercial airliner with one.

Enter Officer Triggerhappy who takes the confiscated weapon to the break room and, and in the process of attempting to unload it, pops off a round. No one was hurt.

“She will go back to training for handling weapons,” police spokesman Lt. Ray Evers told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “She will be off the streets for a period of time.”

No word on what will happen to the flight attendant, but bringing loaded guns to work is generally frowned upon in the airline biz, as is missing your flight for being arrested.
