Last week Brussels Airlines invited NYCAviation to John F. Kennedy International Airport to experience their new long-haul product, what they call a “Boutique Hotel in the sky”, onboard an A330 aircraft.

Back in 2017 Brussels Airlines initiated a plan to upgrade their long haul product to have a strong synergy with other airlines within the Lufthansa Group. The entire aircraft interior from Business Class to Economy has been revamped. Each cabin is unique in its own way and promotes Belgian hospitality. 30 Business Class Seats, 21 Premium Economy Seats and 244 Economy seats fill the A330.

Van de Velde. Business Class has only 30 seats to maximize privacy. Rows are configured either 1-2-1 or 2-2-1 and offer 90% direct isle access. Highlights of the new business cabin include personalized ambient mood lighting, lumbar & massage function seats, lay flat seat, and a 15.6″ HD screen with hours of entertainment. Onboard Business Class service includes a 4-course menu including 8 famous Belgian beers as well as AC and USB power at each seat.
Premium Economy has 21 seats and only is 3 rows in a 2-3-2 configuration. The Premium Economy seat features 40 degrees of recline, a 13.3″ HD screen and 23% more legroom then economy. Service includes a 3 course menu , AC and USB power.
Economy class seats in a 2-4-2 configuration feature a new ergonomic headrest with adjustable neck support, a 10.1″ HD Screen with USB power outlet. Service includes a selection of fine dining options.
Brussels Airlines seems to have stepped up the quality of their cabin product, especially the premium cabin, to stay on par with other offerings within the Lufthansa Group.
