Some great photos were added to the NYCAviation Photo Hangar this week. User Michael Wass uploaded and tagged the 25 photos needed to have his portfolio reviewed by our team of Dispatchers. Yesterday, all 25 photos in his portfolio were approved, and he now has unrestricted access to upload ot the Photo Hangar. Any additional photos he uploads will be immediately visible once they have been tagged. Of course, the Dispatch team will check in from time to time, just to make sure that everything meets our standards. Here are some of Michael’s photos:
A Boeing BBJ2 (AKA a private 737-800) stops at Port Columbus International Airport on its way to have an auxiliary fuel tank installed.
Another less common visitor to Port Columbus: this United States Air Force C-32A, the military version of the 757-200.
Port Columbus is the first “hub” for Amazon’s Prime Air, which has branded 767 freighters flying dedicated routes for the online retailer. Flights are operated by Air Transport International and Atlas Air (pictured here).
This AN-124 Ruslan, one of the few commercial aircraft capable of carrying oversized cargo, arrives at Rickenbacker International Airport near Columbus, Ohio.
One of Kalitta Air’s newer 747-400F ‘true freighters’ in the airline’s all white livery.
The 747-400Fs (both converted freighters and factory-built “true freighters”) have replaced Kalitta Air’s fleet of 747-200 freighters. Here is N793CK, Kalitta’s final 747-200F, departing Rickenbacker International Airport on one of its last flights. The aircraft has since been sold to an international operator.
Here’s a 727 from the “other” Kalitta: Kalitta Charters. Kalitta Charters is owned by Conrad Kalitta’s nephew, Doug Kalitta. The relatives not only both own airlines, they’re also both current or former drag racing drivers.
Here’s another 727 operated by Kalitta Charters. H.E. Tex Sutton First Class Equine Air Travel, better known as “Air Horse One” arrived at Stewart International Airport late last week, and Ben Granucci was lucky enough to be on hand for the arrival.
Sometimes you just get lucky and catch a special livery. Ben Granucci recently caught this British Airways A319 in the “Olympic Dove” livery while waiting for a flight in Edinburgh.
