EVA Air has received its first Airbus A321, the companies announced last week.

The plane is the first of 12 on order for Taiwan’s EVA, all of which will be leased from US-based Aviation Capital Group (ACG). All are scheduled for delivery between now and November 2014.

New narrowbody jets are a bit of an oddity for the EVA fleet. Other than five leased McDonnell Douglas MD-90s, EVA currently operates a passenger fleet consisting entirely of widebody aircraft, including Airbus A330s, Boeing 747s and Boeing 777s.
